Description of 1962 Chevrolet Other Pickups |
UPDATED: FORTY (40) NEW DETAILED PHOTOS ADDED IN FIRST YOUTUBE VIDEO PRESENTATION BELOW!!!!!! You are looking at an extremely solid 1962 Chevy C20 3/4 ton pickup, long wheel base stepside. You can fit full sheets of plywood in this huge solid oak bed! This engine runs very well and can be a solid work truck or cruise around town very comfortably.Check out my youtube videos for a slideshow, startup and takeoff videos! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cPd8yff8Ug https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Wx6rAZy3s8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LR4iPZdKUA8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxgMpb0cxnM I re-did everything under the hood 4 years ago. About $3, 00 worth. The 305 high output motor was redone from the bottom up, cleaned and inspected, crankshaft polished, all new bearings and seals, valves lapped, new camshaft, lifters, and rods, new oil pump and pickup.New valve covers.New Summit Racing headers paired with a complete new exhaust system with Thrush mufflers and angled chrome tips, put together by Clanton Muffler in Madison AL. He installed Header Buddies which eliminates the need for header seals. He invented Header Buddies and sold the patent.New Street Demon 625cfm carburetor. This is similar to the Edelbrock carb style.New master cylinder and brake booster.New Summit Racing blueprinted High Energy Ignition (HEI) distributor.New two-core welded aluminum radiator.New hoses.New rebuilt steering box.TH350 three-speed automatic transmission was resealed and the driveshaft has new universal joints. The front wheels both have new inner and outer bearings.New exterior door handles.Matching door, ignition and glovebox key set.New door window mechanisms.New latch mechanisms.New interior door latch and window handles.New indian blanket style seat cover.New blinker switch.New front blinker lenses.New heater core.A new original owners manual is included. Most replacement parts can be purchased through Eckler's Truck (catalog inlcuded). Also comes with it - not installed in the truck:New chrome horn button with red bowtie.New horn button mechanisms.New door weatherships and adhesive.New complete wiring set for the entire truck. It has the new blade style fuse box. I intended to install all new wires after the truck is stripped down for paint and bodywork. I have only installed the front blinker wires as they needed help.New door latch striker plates. Not really needed but was going to install them during restoration for looks.Cons:Inner bottom door skins need to be replaced. Inner rocker panels need to be replaced. This is the most common issue with any of these trucks. No rust-through seen anywhere else on the floor panels or around the wheel wheels.Cracked windshield. Doesn't leak. Replacement $348.95 from Safelite.Low rear differential gear not suitable for high speed. Good for quick low end acceleration!Wrong speedometer gear in transmission throws speedometer off by 50%, i.e. 30 mph displays 45 mph, 40 mph displays 60 mpg, 60mph displays 90 mph, etc. Speedometer worm gears are cheap and easy to replace. I just haven't gotten around to it. The rear transmission mount needs to be replaced. The previous owner used a long piece of diamond plate held on to the frame. It is extremely sturdy and I have had no problems with it; however if I had my way I would weld up a proper mount frame.Note: No title. Alabama does not require a title on vehicles 35 years old and older. Why am I selling it? Well I bought a 2012 Chevy Volt that's why! And I have a 1971 Monte Carlo to work on. And I have two babies, so my budget is reduced. :)I love this unique truck and will miss it when it is gone!!Local pickup only. No shipping. Thanks for looking and happy bidding! |
