Description of 1926 Chrysler 70

A TRUE BARN FIND!
RARE! VERY EARLY CHRYSLER WITH SUICIDE DOORS!
(More pics to be uploaded soon!)
THIS RARE 1926 CHRYSLER 70 IS ONE OF THE VERY FIRST CARS BUILT BY CHRYSLER AND WAS DISCOVERED JUST SITTING IN A GARAGE IN COLORADO AT A GARAGE SALE. THIS NEARLY 100 YEAR OLD CAR IS IN AMAZING CONDITION AND WOULD MAKE AN INCREDIBLE ADDITION TO ANYONE'S COLLECTION! YOU DON'T FIND EM LIKE THIS ANYMORE!
Background: We were told by the surviving family that the car had spent most of its life at the Steven Chrysler-Plymouth dealership in Wichita, Kansas. We believe the dealership has since closed, but the car was used as a promotional vehicle in its showroom for many, many years. That explains the "Chrysler 1925" paint it had prior to us brining it back to its original sleek black paint. Although it was painted claiming to be a 1925, the title lists it as a 1926, so we can't be sure if it is a 1925 or a 1926. Either way, this is one of the very first original Chrysler cars to be manufactured!
The family said their father had admired the car for years, but every time when he asked if it was for sale they said it was not. He would go by the dealership and inquire frequently about the car and eventually they decided to sell him the car in 1994, which we have the original Sales Contract.
The car was already in excellent condition, but as it was not used for many years the owner decided to rebuild the motor and sent out all of the chrome to be replated. He had big plans for the ca, but he unfortunately became ill and was no longer to complete the project. The car had sat undercover for nearly 25 years until we discovered it several months ago at a garage sale. When we found the car in the garage all of the chrome (bumpers, trim, headlight bezels, etc.) were still wrapped in newspapers dating from the mid 90's. The car was covered in dust, but it was in amazing condition.
Exterior: When we purchased the car it had an old repspray with the "Chrysler 1925" script down each side. It appears this was done by the Chrysler dealer to make it their showroom display. We felt it was important to bring it back to its original sleek black paint, so we painted it and repaired any little ding or dent we could find. The car did not have any rust or body work.
The chrome is like new and the glass is in excellent shape. The paint shines bright and was just cut and polished. The original roof has some damage that could be repaired, as some spots of original wood have rotted. The running boards could also use some new rubber to make it look perfect.
The wheels were just refurbished, along with the hubs and hydraulic brakes. Each wheel was broken down and the wood spokes sanded and then coated with Linseed oil. The hubs and rims were paint and the wheel caps were polished.
Interior: The interior appears to have been freshened up at some point, but mostly original. The door panels and upholstery are in good shape being so old and can be ran as is, or updated depending on what the buyer would like to do.There is a hand and foot rail in the rear and a couple of curtains that came with it.
Mechanical: We cleaned the gas tank, installed a new battery, cleaned up some of the wiring and installed some new rubber. We also removed the carburetor and cleaned it up. Once we put some fresh fuel in it, it fired right up and it sounds great.
