Description of 1941 Chrysler Other Windsor |
Very rare 1941 Chrysler Convertible. ONLY 4432 built. very few remain!Runs & drives well with the Original "Spitfire" flathead 6 engine & Semi-automatic FLUID DRIVE transmission (which makes it a pleasure to drive like an automatic. you just shift into gear once. nbsp;then you do not need to shift again. very easy to drive!)Beautiful restored & EXPENSIVE correct marbled plastic - bakelite dash & surrounds in mint condition. I still have the matching marble radio grill in the glove box if choose to install) the original bakelite plastic all naturally deteriorates and I was lucky to find the one and ONLY man in the world that had some sets made by investing over $100k in the molds. then had them manufactured; I bought for about $1700. w/installation one of the few sets that were custom made for these 1941's. (The 1941 Chrysler "barrel back" wagon is worth over $250. 00 and he restores them. that is why he had a few sets made at great expense!)There are very few of these Chrysler convertibles around. therefor quite rare! This is one is solid and rust free. it came from Colorado. "Spitfire" Engine is healthy and it runs and drives well. Very presentable interior. Paint is fine for a driver. Grill is fine. stainless fine. front & rear bumper should be rechromed. I have the new pair of fender stone guard rubber which needs to be installed. Complete minus the little 3inch potmetal fender bottom trim below pass. fender guard(same on all models) and needs a small 4 inch stainless strip on cowl where gooseneck mirror(option) was. now I installed a new. usual pair of correct style side mirrors. Glass is all fine and windows work. The top goes up & down manually now. the top motor IS RESTORED & working switch (only needs a pair of simply made. plain jane +/-8 inch "linkage" rods behind the seat to complete) I did not want to push the top all the way down for the photos. but it can go down. In the photos you may see that we laid on the top the original canvas boot cover. it is old. I would use it to copy for a new boot cover. The top is likely from the 1960's and is still ok for a driver. New carpet. Underside is solid. The body is solid and excellent. Car came from dry Colorado area. thus a solid car in nice condition. IT IS A RARE CAR. AS THERE ARE ONLY A HANDFULL IN EXISTANCE. I HAVE ALWAYS LOOKED FOR RARE CARS. ESPECIALLY CONVERTIBLES!As with all vintage cars. I am selling it AS-IS Where-Is and recommend that you come to see it in person if possible. I have described it as best as I can. but you can gladly email me with any questions. I have 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK with over 16 YEARS as an Ebayer. so you can bid with confidence that I AOK to deal with. I always have 100% sold when I part with something from my collection as I always price it fairly and realistically. I particularly collect convertibles because I like them and they are always more valuable! The non-refundable Paypal deposit is due within 24hrs. with the balance due within 7 days from auctions end. Pickup should be asap or about 7 days or so. I will help make arrangements with overseas buyers if they need to ship to port in NJ. I HAVE PRICED IT VERY LOW FOR SUCH A RARE & SOLID CONVERTIBLE and BASED ON MY GOOD BUY IN COLORADO. I chose this pre-war Chrysler carefully for condition & price when I bought it. so I know that it is a fine car that I can confidently say is well worth the price! The Buy It Now is a great price. about what others ask for a nice coupe and you will have a more valuable convertible! THANK YOU! |
