READ EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU BID. THE CAR RUNS BUT PRESSURE PLATE/CLUTCH/FLYWHEEL IS SEIZED. SOLD AS IS. This auction is for a Cord 810/812 clone built from a 1941 Graham Hollywood. One-of-a-kind car with a great story. A 1941 Graham Hollywood mated to a Cord 810/812 front clip and other Cord parts to give it the appearance of a Cord 810/812 Westchester. If you're not familiar with the Cord - Graham relationship, Google it. This car tells the unique relationship of the Cord 810/812 and Graham Hollywood. This car was built in 1959 by a gentleman that owned a Chrysler dealership. It won many awards in local western Pennsylvania in the early 60s and has the original show badges to prove it. A fairly detailed history of the vehicle is available. The car was featured as a "non-cord car of interest" in the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Club Magazine in 2012 and dubbed by Josh Malks as the "Cordywood". The car was driven regularly on short trips until 2014. Around that time the pressure plate appears to have seized to the flywheel while in storage and its not been driven since. The car has not been started since July 2015 but should fire up and run. ENGINE is a Chrysler 241 V8 poly head hemi lifted from a 1955 Plymouth Belvedere. Engine has new fuel pump and rebuilt 2 barrel carb that needs a choke. Transmission is a Chrysler three on the tree with cable pull overdrive and is paired with the original Graham rear end. Overdrive doesn't appear to work. NOTE: The flywheel/clutch/pressure plate are seized together. This occurred while sitting in storage. SUSPENSION is original Graham leaf spring all around. The stub-frame was cut and stretched 10 inches to set the wheelbase to the correct Cord length. Braking is via the original Graham master cylinder and drum brakes. There's a leaky wheel cylinder. TIRES are low mile Coker wide whitewall radials (Cost over $1200 in 2010). GAUGES are original Graham. Speedo, temp and oil pressure function well. Amp and clock are non-functional. Fuel needle bounces around, and I believe the problem lies in the sending unit. INTERIOR is a 1959 re-upholstery of the original Graham with plenty of historic patina including some holes. Carpets are marginal to poor. Headliner is dirty but intact with a few holes and could be used as a pattern. Seats are marginal. The trunk has no upholstered parts. ELECTRICAL is a 6 volt positive ground and is largely the original Graham wiring. It uses the Plymouth voltage regulator. BODY is solid and in very good condition for the age. Car was extensively under coated when built and has been garaged since 1959 by every owner (I'm the fourth). The outer fascia panel below the trunk and inside rear fender wells where bumper attaches are the only area with any through rust I have found. While not perfect you'll be hard pressed to find a better body than this I believe. Complete Cord front and rear bumpers are in very good condition but not currently installed. Functioning Cord hand crank headlights. Period fog lamps (not installed). New front window frames (cost over $1100 new). Windshield wipers removed but parts in a box with other goodies. Graham serial number indicates it was originally a supercharged model. Chassisnumber 701062 ( # 1062 of 1378 built.) PAINT is an enamel re-spray over 50 year old paint that was chipped and fading. It's a light spray to allow some checker boarding patina to show through. It's a 10 footer. PICTURES shown have been taken at various times. The pictures in and around the storage units without bumpers are the most recent. The car is in a storage unit, on blocks and under a car cover in Brunswick GA five minutes off I-95. I'm selling this because my goals have changed. WHY YOU SHOULD BUY THIS CAR! 1. Sell the Cord parts to finance rebuild a turbocharged 41' Graham Hollywood (more rare than a Cord I believe). 2. Strip the applicable parts to finally finish that Cord restoration languishing in your garage because lack of parts. Part out the left overs to recoup some of your investment. Do the math on the parts value OF this car! 3. Rebuild it with a modern engine, suspension and interior to be the envy of the local hot rod club. 4. Fix the clutch and drive it - its a head turner as it is.
