Description of 1976 Fiat Other Nitrous, very fast |
One of the quickest 124's. on the planet. Beat that Alfa! Although I LOVE the Alfa Montreal iand I think it was the hottest car ever made!I doubt autocheck could find a vehicle history and I'll list the vin later. I've listed this car before and have had two buyers back out. It's not a plaything and it does need body work. I bought the car in 2003 off ebay and drove it a little with the original 4 banger in it. I remember it pulled to the right awfully bad. It since had a professional builder. who builds quarter mile cars. rework it to include 17 inch wheels and low profile tires. wilwood fiat disk brakes on the front. chevy brakes on the rear drilled to accept 4 bolt wheels. a 94 Corvette LT1 engine with a 700r4 transmission set up with shift kit that I personally went out to Detroit and bought new. The engine sits lower and further back towards the driver than the original little bitty 4. The ignition is accessed through the panel below the windshield as well as the back of the engine and of course it has a new firewall. floorpan. transmission hump. etc. The wiring is from Painless. It has a nitrous system directly tied to the gas pedal and it has a 100 hp shot in it now. capable of 150. It has a 22 inch driveshaft that turns a shortened camaro rearend with Tom's Kick Ass Axles rated for over 500hp. chrome moly steel trailing arms. positrack with 3. 83 gearing. The suspension and shocks are original Fiat. The interior has used guages that he put in so the mileage is not right. It has around 20. 00 or less miles on it as it is only used in the summer and hasn't been driven for the last 2. It has an obd2 corvette computer custom programmed that is inserted near the passenger side firewall. It has a four speed stick on the floor with reverse lockout and the nitrous blow button is located there also. Under the dash is the nitrous arming switch for the gas and the heater switch for the bottle heater. The bottle is located in the trunk passenger side with of course the original spare. gas tank and battery compartment. The roll cage is 6 point and it has a Personal. (brand name). wood and aluminum steering wheel. It has a new top with a square corner front windshield bar. I have a rounded bar off a car I took apart if the new owner would like to switch over to that type. (which I think is more streamlined). The front hood has been custom louvered up the sides and the middle and the airbox gets it's air from the front passenger side front bumper connection hole. The front bumper is going to be taken off and my original plan was to use headlights that have the blinker in them as with what I used in another Fiat I had totally restored in candy apple red. This car will need some work to the driver's side front fender as I have a step daughter that doesn't know how to look behind her when she backs her car down the driveway. There are a couple of rust holes around the rear wheel wells. I had a professional appraisal done and it came in at $15. 00 and twice that if I had the body work done. The wheels have some driveway scrapes on them and it does have custom made headers as well as dual exhaust from the engine back. It gets 25 mpg on the highway but not much romping around town beating big block cars in informal races. I've had it to 160 on the highway with plenty more oomph to go. It just floated a little too much at that speed and it was awfully noisy. It has a supra rack and pinion steering system in front added due to the extra weight. It needs a new starter but I'm having that replaced. Hard to do when you don't drive it anymore as I'm out of town most days. There's a video of a burnout on youtube that I did that's too short but you can get a feeling about the car. especially when it bumps into gear. The car also has no power brakes. their just reservoirs that lead directly to the brake system. what the guy who built the car puts on his drag car. It has new brake and fuel lines also. Look up nitrousburnout. mp4 on youtube. It went 80 in about 2 seconds. It'll smoke the tires in 3rd and 4th gear and it's definately a sleeper. You cannot get this kind of custom work anywhere for this price. If you try to do it yourself. it will cost you way more than what I have the car for sale here on ebay as. Try at least 40 grand. Those cars you see at car shows? The nice ones could have 100 thous. into them easily. I'm done spending money on this car. It was a project for me as a bachelor and I'm married now with different interests. I haven't driven the car except to move it in the driveway for the past 2 years or to get the oil changed. It's funny though going to an oil outfit that thinks they have all your info ready for you when you go to the desk. "oh a fiat". no a vette" even at the chevy dealership. I still like Fiats. don't get me wrong. but I have my eye on a 50 foot twin masted boat in Mexico and I'm 56 years old. Ready to move on. besides. I can always buy a cheap little 4 banger. Be aware that shipping by car carrier usually isn't cheap and You are responsible for the shipping. Thanks! Good luck and bid a lot. (boats cost a lot). (holes in the water where you pour in more money). On Jan-11-15 at 23:49:35 PST. seller added the following information:So. rereading my description. it sounds like I want $40. 00. That's what I spent. It's for sale here for close to 10% of that. Hope that helps |
