Description of 1977 Datsun Z-Series |
||
This is a 1977 Datsun 280z that has had extensive work done to it. Most of the the modifications were to increase the performance though a few were done for aesthetic reasons. The straight six has been replaced by a Ford 302 cubic inch engine. It has had a cam, headers, msd ignition, gtp40 heads, intake, Holly Avenger carburetor, Edelbrock aluminum intake, a remote oil filter, and a few other things done to increase the performance. The exhaust is brand new and is a true dual with Magnaflow mufflers. It sounds amazing! All of the stock gauges have been replaced with Autometer units. The engine is attached to a Tremec T-5. When the engine and trans were installed the clutch master and slave were replaced with new as was the brake master cylinder with is now the 15/16ths unit. The stock seats were upgraded to suede units that have side bolsters. We also added a front and rear strut brace to keep the chassis from flexing too much through high speed turns. The seat belts are Racequip 5 point harnesses that will make sure you do not move when you don't want to. The carpet is new as is the complete dash cover and steering wheel. The wheels are Desmond Longchamps that are 16x8 in the rear and 16x7 in the front. The brakes have been upgraded to the Toyota twin-pot calipers (these are more than enough stopping power) with cross drilled and ventilated rotors from a 240sx. I chose these so that parts would be easy to replace when the time came. The paint is near perfect, I had it re-sprayed for this sale. You can shave in it if you wanted! The upper and lower grill are custom made with honeycomb metal and the front bumper is the MSA style. The rear spoiler is functional and adjustable. Rust, there is none. None! this car was stripped down to metal, all areas of damage or rust were repaired and then the car was primed and painted. It was originally black so it was not hard to do. Basically all of this car is new or very near it. The rims are not and there is a bit of curb rash on one of the fronts. I am selling this car because I need the money. I just got done building it after a long and fun build and of course a stack of receipts taller than me, but as sometimes happens, I need to sell. Not because I want to but because I need to. If you want to come look at it or have a mechanic look at it, get in touch and I'll make it happen.
