Prior owner purchased the Z from California and had car completely stripped and repainted in 2012. I have found almost no rust except for minor suface rust in the engine bay which was removed and treated with POR15 and repainted. I pulled the engine and transmission last winter and painted the engine bay, replaced some engine and transmission seals, freeze plugs, and oil pump and repainted as shown. The L28 engine and 5 speed is from a 1975 280z. Engine tested less than 10% leakdown on all cylinders using a leakdown tester and runs great. I would bet that it has been rebuilt but I am not sure and prior owner did not know either. Clutch, pressure plate, flywheel and release bearing were all replaced at the same time. The car had factory AC but had been removed previously. I haved done many things too numerous to list here but feel free to ask any questions that come up. This is the 4th 240/260 280Z that I have owned and done restoration work on and it is the most solid and best looking so far. Body and paint are almost perfect but it does have a few minor chips that are difficult to show in pictures. There is a chip on passenger door edge that you can see in one picture but it is minor. I would not call this a show car but it is very close depending on definition. On Aug-15-17 at 12:49:51 PDT, seller added the following information: I should add that I have a huge folder of documentation with receipts detailing everything I have done to the car. Also, the prior owner put the "Fairlady" badges on the front fenders when he had the car painted but as some may know the only true "Fairlady" is a RH drive imported from Japan or Britain and as you can see in the pictures this car is a left driver side US car. |
