My friend Yuki said to me " I have seen the cars that you have worked on and I want you to buy my Roadster !" I felt honored that he wanted to pass on prized treasure to me. Yuki was ill at the time and has sense passed on. He was a good friend and he loved this car ! This car was kept inside his warehouse sense the 1980's I think. I bought it and also keep it indoors as well. Matching Number original engine. This car has always been in Berkeley California sense new. I have the original paper License plates that the dealers put on that say "Datsun Berkeley “ Super Solid ! No rust found …Runs well . check the pictures. small surface spots under rubber trunk mat. I spent a good amount of money going through the following:Z therapy carbs $950. 00Clutch slave cylinderClutch master cylinderBrake master cylinderWheel cylinders in the rear /Front disc calipers were okHead gasket /thermostat and housingExhaustTiresA bunch of other things I can't think of now I have a lot of receipts. It runs starts well. but is an old car so it will still need things to be done to maintain or upgrade its condition. The Bad:One repaint in the 80’s . prep was good/ bodywork not so great. Dash pad has cracks from age. Small dents on the passenger rear side from something bumping it while stored. Fuel pump is a little weak / rebuild or put in electric one. Tires are new but not great quality / could use 15 in. Panasports and modern tiresElectrical starter wires in plug near master cyl. get a little fussy once in while Little wear on drivers seat. choke cable needs to be hooked up/ all parts are there. I have a clear clean title in hand. Car is currently registeredI really thought I would be keeping this car. so I spent and worked on it as such. My priorities are changing and I won't be able to give this beauty the use/attention it deserves. A kid going to college this fall. big joy and also big life adjustment.
