Description of 1970 Datsun Other |
Amazing example of the Datsun Fairlady 1600 Roadster. I bought this car 7 years ago from a car "nut" in Texas who has completed several show winning frame off restorations including this particular car. This car is stunning. The fit and finish are like new. the paint is exceptional. the clear coat is perfect. Zero rust. This restoration included the entire drive train as well as the interior and accessories. No expense was spared to make this a true show car. The engine runs perfectly. uses no oil. runs very strong. The transmission shifts nicely and without problems. The interior is amazing. it has all the components down to the accessory light in the center console. All the gauges work. it has the correct fog lights. and back up lights and rear tail lights. All the badges are correct. trim pieces and full nomenclature attached in the correct places. Trim pieces are very nice if not new. The car is like I said. stunning. to me it looks like new. however that is my opinion. Since we all know that a Datsun 1600 sold recently for $50. 00. 00 at auction. I will not let this car go for less than it is worth. That means it won't be a screaming good deal for anyone. That means it will be expensive. in line with "that" auction result. So get your buns over to California if you win and take a look at it first hand. or have an authorized agent view this car before you bid. I don't want to sell this car to a cry baby. So I will give the winner three days to come here and inspect the car for themselves. If they don't like it. they will get their deposit back less $250. 00* Why am I selling it? Because I have too much "stuff" I collect cars. motorcycles. long guns. hand guns (all investment grade) and watches and vending machines. I don't like selling an asset. and this is by no mean any kind of liability. So please don't waste your effort with low ball offers. I am a 60 year old dude who is a bit "cranky. " I believe the value of these cars is going in one direction. and that is UP. But I could be wrong. I think that car that sold last year for $50. 00. 00 was not as nice as this car. but I could be wrong (hell. it had the incorrect steering wheel). This car is "correct" and is a show car. You could use it easily as a daily driver but you would have to be an idiot to do so. Hey. the brakes were a tad "squishy" at first when I brought it from storage today to my house for the picture shoot. They firmed up nicely. but that tells me the master cylinder might need attention. But it is a trailer queen. mechanical brakes tend to be "touchy" if not used on a regular basis. Or it might be that the brakes are not like ones on the 2014 Flying Spur that is my daily driver (I know. what an arrogant ass). But keep in mind this car is being sold AS IS with no warranty expressed or implied so do your own due diligence. $1. 00. 00 partially refundable* deposit due within 48 hours of successful bid. It comes with an extra set of keys. key to the gas cap. key to the antenna. the original service book and manual and a bunch. bunch of receipts from the previous owner. |
