Description of 1967 Datsun Other |
You are bidding on one 1967 Datsun 1600 Roadster. NUMBERS MATCHING. TITLE IS CLEAR AND IN MY NAME. CAME FROM NEVADA. so rust is minimal. Runs and drives great. (See video). ENGINE COMPRESSION IS 150PSI across the board!!! New clutch master cylinder. Rebuilt Carbs. Body has some rust in some of the lower sections. but the rest of the car is VERY solid. floors are great. all jack points and suspension pickup points are good. The battery area has the normal rust. but this one is really not that bad. just superficial and non-structural. Only missing items are hood latch. hood catch. hood release cable. spare tire. jack and top latches. ALL ELECTRICAL WORKING. Only items not functioning are odometer. tripometer and brakes. The emergency brake does work. The transmission does not seem to operate in reverse. but it might just be the linkage. as the bushing between the shifter and gear selector is quite worn. and all other gears work great. I have the car running on an auxiliary gas tank setup with electric fuel pump which will not be included in the auction. The gas was old in the tank. so I did not use it. Car has original keys. This is a GREAT car for restoration. it runs and drives and performs well. Or. one could simply have the gas tank cleaned. renew the braking system and you would have a great driver while you get the bodywork done. The car was owned by a salesman/Datsun enthusiast in NEVADA for a very long time and was very well maintained. hence the absence of structural rust. I have TONS of receipts dating back to the early 1980s. I have owned the car for about a year. getting it where I wanted it little by little. I acquired a 1967. 5 roadster this past winter. so this one has to go. OK. here are the details:SCROLL DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE LISTING AND CLICK THE VIEW ALL BUTTON TO BE DIRECTED TO VIDEO AND TONS OF BIGGER AND BETTER PHOTOS. CHASSIS: VERY solid. See photos. All suspension pickup points and jack points are solid. Floors are great. some surface rust. but VERY solid. Braking system will need to be renewed. The emergency brakes do work. Tires are decent. nothing special. I would replace them for extended highway use. around town they are fine. ELECTRICAL: As stated. ALL ELECTRICAL WORKING. Yes. heater fan. wipers. gauges. turn signals. etc. The only non-functioning items are the tripometer and odometer. these are not really electrical but I'm including them. INTERIOR: Not bad at all. Carpet is old. but still presents well. The only modification was to the panel where the choke and cigarette lighter are. Looks like someone install some 1/4" jacks for a sound system. as there are hookups for an amplifier behind the console. The rear upper panels have been cut for speakers and have speaker grilles installed. see photos. Seats are in good shape. There is some light corrosion on the speedometer and the rpm gauge surrounds and some corrosion on the shifter panel. Overall. it's fairly presentable. ENGINE: 150PSI CYLINDER COMPRESSION ACROSS THE BOARD. There is a little smoke at start-up. but goes away. Cranks up every time. runs great (See video). I rebuilt the carbs upon purchase and did not even have to adjust them once back on the engine!!! The car was very well maintained by an enthusiast since the early 1980s. No leaks. everything is in fine condition. Holds temperature correctly. no issues. TRANSMISSION: As stated. reverse will not engage. All other gears work just fine. New clutch master cylinder installed upon purchase. The linkage between the shifter and gear selector is quite worn and may be the cause of reverse not engaging. There is some transmission noise at times. so I'm not sure what the issue is. but all forward gears work as they should. BODY: Very straight and solid body. but it does have some rust. see photos. One dent on passenger side front fender above headlight. this could be pushed back out as it is not creased. etc. One small dent on right side of rear panel. but it is hard to get it to show up in pictures. Bumpers are straight. all trim is in pretty good condition. The outsides of the windshield frame does have some light corrosion as well as the outside of the vent window frame. The top has shrunk over time. I never drive it unless the weather is good anyway. As stated. the top is missing the latches. but the latch catches are present as well as ALL the other top trim (cable push plates. push plate brackets. etc)WHAT WOULD I DO: Have the gas tank cleaned. renew the braking system and decide from there which way you want to go. It is VERY deserving of a restoration as it is very solid and 99. 9% complete. The Nevada climate was very good to this example. Please feel free to ask questions.
