This is an older restoration of the rare 1956 DeSoto Firedome Seville hardtop coupe. This is said to be a rust free California car since new and was for years exhibited at a museum in the Sacramento area. We were told that the previous owner invested about $45,000 in the restoration, including mechanical rebuilds, a full repaint and all leather upholstery. It is now in a presentable touring car condition and it performs well with the original drivetrain and components... throughout. We love the black and gold paint and all the very stylish chrome and stainless steel details. The paint is in very nice condition. We recently wet sanded it to make it mirror smooth and highly polished. The present owner had a full service performed and has driven it for extended periods, so we are very comfortable with the drivetrain. It runs, drives and stops very well and has a solid road feel. The Firedome model features the 330 ci hemi V8 with 230 hp. It transmits its power through the two speed Powerflight automatic transmission. We love the push button controls for the transmission. This DeSoto also features power steering and power brakes. The chrome and stainless are not in show condition. There are some scratches on the stainless and one ornament in the front of the car is cracked. The interior upholstery is newer and is from three types of leather. The tan is a suede leather that looks very cool! The interior is black, tan and white and looks every bit 1956!! The interior dash has everything working well but the trim has some pitting that can be seen in the photo gallery. The wheels are a chrome wire wheel that look to be an aftermarket variety. They appear as new and have the DeSoto center medallion. The DeSoto is ready to tour and enjoy!! For more details and information, please call or text Harry Clark at 1.602.245.7200 or email us at . The Seville can be inspected at our San Marcos, CA showroom.
