Description of 1973 Dodge Charger |
le is my loaded 1973 Dodge Charger. this is the high line model with the bucket seats and the fancy dash cluster and not the cheap bench seat version. It is equipped with a factory SUNROOF, SPEED, IG BLOCK and A/C. With the WH23 vin number we know it is the higher priced model, ut not the SE with the funny windows. It may be a rallye model as I got it without a hood. It comes with a flat hood that I picked up. According to a Charger website, nly a handful of 1973 Chargers came with a sunroof from the factory. They are working on the final number now and say that it will be available sometime this fall. It is estimated that far less than 1000 were ever put in any model Charger in 1973. I suspect that most were put in the SE model with all the luxury items including automatic transmissions. Very few were ever installed in big block 4 speed cars. The 4 speed is another rarity with very few ever being produced. Galen does not have numbers for either the 4 speed or sunroof production in 1973, ut one thing is for sure. This is a very rare car and with the colors and options might even be a one of one car. According to Scott Rudge, B body sunroof fanatic, here are only 60 known 69 Chargers with sunroofs, 3, 0 models, 2 71's and 11 72's currently registered with him. Of those listed, pproximately 10% were 4 speed cars. In 73 Chrysler made the sunroof's a bit less expensive, ut it was still a very rare option. This car is equipped as follows. The Fender Tag is missing, o there are probably other optionsd that were on the car. These are the ones that I can prove were there; PS PB A/C Rear Defroster Radio 4 Speed 400 HP engine Bucket Seats, Console Rear sway bar Front sway bar Disc Brakes ??? I have mounted Magnum 500 wheels with great roller tires on it. I have also dropped ( literally) a 74 440 that is extra clean with Mopar Performance valve covers on it. The engine turns, nd that is all that I know about it. The car comes with a very nice flat hood and I have found bucket seats, eplaced the cut front bumper, eplaced the badly dented pass fender upper, s well a slots of small parts like hood hinges etc. This car came from Idaho and it's original front bumper had a Nevada parking sticker on it, o the car has not been exposed to much rust or rot. The floors and trunk show no visable rust whatsoever and the rocker, both inner and outer are rust free.. The rear 1/4's on both sides have rust through both in front and behind the rear wheels, ut the rust does not creep up the wheel wells at all. Please review the photos to see for yourself how little rust is really there. Neither Idaho or Nevada use salt in the winter and so everything looks fantastic compared to most other cars. If you are familiar with where the rear sway bar kind of bolts to a big pinch weld, his area is still shiny and covered with it's original gold paint. The sway bar will bolt right back in place without any effort at all. The car does not run. It is missing many parts like the 4 speed, ell housing, lywheel, lutch assembly and clutch linkage, adiator, /C under hood parts and the driveshaft. The car is being sold where is and as is, nd as is without any warranty whatsoever. This is a major project car! But it will be sow fantastic when done. Imagine yourself driving this muscle car with the sunroof open in the early spring going through each gear with enthusiasm! does it get any better? The 3rd generation Chargers are just beginning to follow after the 2nd generation cars. Did you see those 71 Chargers sell last winter? Can you imagine the value of this car if it was just 4 years older? This is the time to buy while the price is still very reasonable. For less than 4 grand you can actually but a solid car with hardly any rust! lesser equipped cars can bring much more, ut you'd have the one that everyone will be wanting soon! Now is the time. I can store for free for 30 days. After that, 'll need it picked up as I'm paying storage on it now. Please contact me with any questions that you might have. I want you to be happy with this purchase. Please ask me questions and I'll be happy to answer. I have sold 2 other cars on Ebay in the past 2 years. Please look up my excellent feedback and know that I want you to be happy with your purchase. Thank you for reading all of this! Scott |
