Description of 1964 Dodge Dart GT

1964 Dodge Dart GT 2 Door Hardtop. 99% Restored — ready to enjoy!

We started with a very solid, ery complete Los Angeles, A car that was sold new at Hollywood Dodge in 1964 to a lady who lived and worked in the community. This car is a 50th Anniversary Edition originally purchased in gold with a black side stripe, lack bucket seat interior, ith the optional 225 CID slant six engine and Torqueflite Automatic Transmission with push button shifter. I have researched the history of this car starting with the original purchaser in 1964.

We purchased this fine, wo-owner California car, rucked it across the country to the South, nd began the multi-year process of a slow, omplete, ethodical restoration.

We restored it to an extreme degree, tarting with rebuilding the engine, ransmission, ifferential, teering, rakes and suspension. A very mild cam upgrade was installed for added performance. New Firestone tires complete the mechanical restoration.

We then went to the body and interior, efinishing this beauty in its original Gold with Black trim exterior and black vinyl Interior, sing new matching vinyl to cover the original seats.

This is the original color combination that was used by Dodge in the 1964 Showroom Brochures (see photo), nd is original to this car (which is part of what drew me to restore this particular car).

This car is a joy to own and drive, r take to a fine classic car show and show off!

Recently, ue to health reasons, have been unable to finish it and enjoy it as planned, nd am now forced to sell it to pay medical and other bills. There are two things left to do: 1) rechrome the hood and trunk trim, T emblems and taillight bezels (cost: $450.), nd 2) replace or straighten the headlight bezels (cost: about $100). The headliner did not come out perfect when installed, nd that should be smoothed out properly at the rear, t minimal cost and time.

Everything works; blinkers, orn, ipers, tc! This car drives like it should; it's basically a new car from the ground up, uilt to original 1964 specs.

I have invested a little more than $20,000 in the restoration of this rare, eautiful, esirable Dodge Dart GT. I realize that I can expect to lose a substantial amount of money in the sale of this car, ue to changes in the economy over the past few years, nd due to the fact that I was in the process of over-restoring the car, o expenses spared, ith the intention of keeping and enjoying it.

I have a clean, lear title in my name to transfer the car to its new owner.

This car is a lot of fun to drive and to show at car shows. Look at the photos closely and you'll see why.
