Description of 1957 Dodge Power Wagon W200

1957 Dodge W200 3/4 ton Power Wagon.

Very old truck. Serial number indicates it was the 11th W200 Power Wagon built by Dodge in 1957.

I bought it from a totalson of a _____in Florida several years ago. This guy supposedly had a bunch of 1957 Dodge trucks he was selling off. He told me the truck was rough, ada non-original engine but he would give a 315ci engine he had as a spare. He also said he had the title. He tuned out to be a lying sack of ____. He did not have the title for this truck and he didn't load the motor in the bed of the truck like he promised becausehismachine shop"lost it" somewhere in their shop. He also forgot to mention the Pumpkin/Differential was also missing. After many phone calls he promised to ship all the missing items but of course many years later I'mstill waiting.

Lesson #1. Do not buy a truck with out a full complete set of pictures.

Lesson #2. This includes a picture of the title.

Lesson #3. Wait for pictures of items loaded in truck before you schedule pickup.

Sorry to get off topic but I thoughsomeonemight learn from my stupide mistake.

Anyway, fter I got the truck I started searching for a correct motor and I found it in Utah. A great guy out there had bought a running D300 1957 for the body so he could put it on his modern truck chassis. I bought the running 315ci in its frame which he was able to drive up on the transporter once he welded the bench seat on the frame. The engine number is VT538-5048. This frame also happens to have 8 3/4 corporate rear end pumpkin that I needed for the W200.

So then I started looking for a 1957 D100 parts truck and found one in Iowa. Another great Dodge guy sold me a nice solid truck that had parts I needed. Two great doors, bed that was much better then the one on the W200, ront chrome piece I needed and a nice tailgate and miscellaneous other pieces I needed.

So after I got all this together I contacted 2 restoration shops hoping and praying they would be will to tackle this monster challenge. But no luck. Both shops have long waiting lists and they can't take anyone else on at this time. So do I sit on this project for 2 more years or sell? Well I've dicited to let the market decide for me. I'm going put the package up for sale to see if there is any interest. if it sells, reat. If not maybe I'll try sending out all the jobs to different contractors and see if I can get it done before I die!!

See the link below to see all the pictures of the three trucks. If you have any problem email me and I'll send the link to you.
