And considering the rarity of the Mopars from this era, the price is exceptionally affordable.Long, lean, and truly its own car, the 1971 Charger has one of the meanest and most distinct lines to come out of Detroit. FE5 Bright Red is such a great color of distinction on these coupes, so it's great to see it in its factory hue. The Charger might have been new for '71, but it's easy to see the legendary DNA running through this car's veins in the hidden headlights, chrome bumper surround, and all the badging. And speaking of the insignias, you have to love the respect and attention the Super Bee graphics get today. Add in the sports stripe package, the tall rear spoiler, and Rallye wheels, and this is a true Mopar muscle car hero.Black is beautiful, and that's what this highly original interior offers. You always find interesting components in a Mopar, and it starts here with the front seats. Most of these cars came with vinyl, but you get the comfort of pillow top leather. Plus, these individual bucket seats have an independent center seat that also can be folded down for an armrest (it's the convenience of a bench setup but with sporty bucket luxury.) And speaking of luxury, the black interior is tastefully broken up by wood paneling on the door panels, dashboard, and factory three-spoke steering wheel. While this interior looks highly original right down to the factory AM radio, you might notice the SunPro auxiliary gauges mounted at the bottom of the dash. It's a little hint that there might be something special in the engine bay.The callouts on the hood might say 383, but that a lie... It's actually a much larger 440 cubic-inch V8 powering this Charger. It looks nicely dressed in the engine bay with the Moroso air cleaner painted to match the bold orange block. And if you look close, you can also spot upgrades like the Edelbrock intake and Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor. These help to get even more power out of the big block and add some extra rumble to the dual exhaust. But just as the interior is a mixture of luxury and aggression, this enhanced power coupe is also setup to also be easy to drive. That's why you have features like the TorqueFlite A727 three speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc brakes.This is a very cool Charger that looks and sounds mean but is quite civil from behind the wheel.
