Description of 1971 Dodge Challenger |
This is a very clean Original 1971 Dodge Challenger from west Texas. It is in good working order it runs and drives and has working A/C. It has been in Storage for the last 6 years. It was originally a 318 car it now has a 360 with an Edelbrock 4 barrel and an automatic transmission . I believe the motor is an 1985 model I have a Photo of the stamping on the front of the block. The motor starts easy and sounds Great ( Please watch the Video) . I was told it has a mild cam. It has no oil leaks that I have seen. There is a sound that sounds like a header leak when running. We have driven the challenger around the neighborhood but it has not been driven on the Highway ( No current registration ) . It drives well and has Great acceleratio, Transmission shifts smoothly. The slap stick shifterworks Great. It may need some work on the suspension, it has some play in the steering. The Power disk brakes feel firm and stop the car very nicely. The Power steering is smooth. The Body of the Challenger is in very good original condition . There are some rust bubbles just starting at the bottom of the quarters ( see Photos ) and the passenger side rear quarter looks like it has been repairs once before. There are also some bubbles that are hard to see in the photos between the rear glass and trunk but there are no holes yet. The frame rails are clean and Solid and all of the floor pans look to be in Great condition and the trunk pans has been previously replaced . The paint is Drivers quality, the car looks great from 10 feet. It could use a good buffing and wax job. The Chrome is in Drivers Quality conditio, the rear bumper is straight but could stand to be re chromed. Inside the Challenger the seats are in Great conditio, it has new carpet that was poorly installed and has some wrinkles. The Dashboard has a few cracks and could use a cap. The headliner looks Good. The Gauges are in good condition and seem to be in working order . The Air condition works and blows Cold air. The heat and defrost all seem to work also. All of the lights and turn signals work. The Horn and wipers are also in working order. Overall this is a Great running driving 71 Challenger, It turns heads every time we take it out. You can keep it the way it is or With a little bit of work this could be an show car. Please call us with any Questions .
