Description of 1970 Dodge Challenger |
For sale is my 1970 Dodge Challenger SE finished in originalshiny base coat clear coat Mopar high impact color “Sublimeâ€. It’s equippedwith a 727 automatic transmission, 3.23 Sure-Grip rear differential, manualfront disc brakes, power steering, AM radio, Wood wheel, a fully functional(except clock) rally gauge dash cluster and rides on 14†Mopar Road Wheels with205-70R-14 BFG Radial T/As. Car was originally an A/C car and most all of the originalcomponents have been remove. It does however still retain its working heatercontrols including a new heater core, water temp control valve and cable. The car started out as a 383 2 barrel with single exhuast. Itnow has a rebuilt to stock specs 1973 340 with a Thermo-Quad 4 barrel, electronicignition and dual exhaust exiting factory chrome tips. Engine and driveline runstrong and have no strange noises or real fluid leaks of any kind. That too includesthe power steering. The interior is in excellent condition. With newerreupholstered front bucket seats, newer carpet and headliner. The rear seat isoriginal with only a few superficial nicks. No rips tears or split seams. Dashpad is original with only 2 small splits at apposing corners of the frontspeaker. (One is maybe ¾†and the other is maybe a ½â€) The headliner is newerand was replaced during the refreshing. Door panels, rear side panels andconsole are all in excellent shape. The R/T badging, bulge hood and blacked out grill and tailpanel were all added for that more muscular look. Hey, everyone loves an R/T!!!The body is rust free both up and down. With solid floors, frame rails andtrunk. It has great door, hood and trunk shut lines as well as good glass asidefrom some scratching on the rear. The Sublime color paint shows really well. Itdoes however have flaws from what I feel was poor preparation. Don’t get mewrong, car looks great. It’s just not what I consider a show quality paint job.The only area I see with some minor pimpling is at the front lower portion ofthe passenger door. (See photo) Also, like most all 50 year old cars is looksto may have had some patch work done to the rear quarters both forward and rearwardof the wheels. The inner quarter drop downs of both sides are still solid and showingthe drain plug holes. (See photos) The black vinyl top shows real well and isin good condition as well as most all of the bright work, grill and tail panel. The bumpers are super straight but the chrome has patina and is showing itsage. In the trunk there’s a newer mat and a new spare tire on a rally wheelalong with all of the original jack components. I guess that covers it pretty much. But I’m sure I forgot things. So with saying that, here’s my cell number below so you can call/text me to askany questions you might have or for any additional photos. Regards,Dave Ph. 631-796-7173 LongIsland, NY PS: It’s a nice looking, nice driving Mopar classic that catches plenty of eyes and get plenty of thumbsup. It’s ready to enjoy immediately…not even an oil change is needed. Thanksfor looking. And “Stay Safeâ€. |
