The car was partially restored in 2006 and in the past 4 years the current owner has meticulously completed a major restoration and refreshing as well detailing to the car to show standards. The charger still wears all its original panels. I will attempt to list out all the unique features and history of this amazing vehicle: History: car purchased new by Universal Studios and is a Y28 public relations car. It is also a Y86 New car service and has a Y95 show car finish. Car was then sold to its first owner in May of 1974. It stayed in California most of its life. Luckily, the previous owners had the foresight to retain the paperwork and there is a stack of documents that go with the car including the original check for a deposit from the first owner and registrations. July 2018 Cover car for Muscle Car Review -extensive photos and details are listed in this magazine which featured cars from the early 70’s and how they are becoming extremely collectible now. There is a 4-page spread on the car. Color photos and numerous other details describing the rarity and quality of the car are shown. Included with the sale is a 2†thick binder with over a hundred receipts. Also included with this car is the original paperwork from the dealer (dealer order) as well as 3 superb build sheets and a binder full of original paperwork. Everything works with the exception of the cruise control. AC blows cold air because over $2,000 was spent to correctly restore it (you all heard the saying “It only needs Freon†well to truly get these cars working they need a lot more than a recharge). All lights interior and exterior work, turn signals, brake, headlights, and reverse lights. (nothing worse than when you see a big dollar car cross Mecum or Barrett/Jackson auction block and a taillight is out or a headlight does not work) For the numbers Gurus it is 1 of 208 440 4bl cars and 1 of only 4 total Charger Rallyes with a manual sunroof and a 440.
