Description of 1979 Dodge Power Wagon Adventurer

1979 DODGE W150 4x4 POWER WAGON ADVENTURER

This is a one-owner truck from January of 1979 to 2023 when I purchased it. The truck is in very nice original condition. It is rust-free. There is no rust-through, or anything even close to that. No pinholes. The paint is original. All the original documents are included. This includes the original build sheet, retail order, owners manual, warranty booklet, and several other original documents. The truck runs really nice. This is a great classic 4x4. These vintage 4x4 pickups are very popular now and an excellent investment that you can also use for work or pleasure.Feel free to ask questions. Please read payment requirements. I accept wire transfer only. I have more pics I can send. Thank you.

MECHANICAL

This truck has the original 318 V8 engine, with 727 3-speed automatic transmission. It has 3.21 gears. This truck has the full-time 4x4 option with NP203 transfer case. This is similar to an all wheel drive vehicle, but you can also put it in lock for off road or certain road condition as-needed. I personally like the full-time 4x4, but you can easily convert it to a part-time 4x4 if you prefer. The 4x4 works fine in high and low range. The transmission works great. The truck runs great. This has the 2-barrel carburetor. Everything is stock. The engine does not smoke or have blowby. It does not tick or knock or have any leaks of any concern. The transmission works nicely. All lights work. The heater fan works. The truck runs cool and does not overheat. The oil was changed and has no abnormalities. There is no oil or anything abnormal in the coolant. The truck will need a couple things, but it is usable as-is. The parts I would recommend are new tires. The tires are older and have some weather cracking. These are 31x10.50 sized tires and are very common and inexpensive for new tires. The exhaust is the factory original exhaust and does need at least a tailpipe. It has the original catalytic converter. I would personally put a dual exhaust on it, but that is the buyers decision. I would also recommend the transmission filter and fluid be changed. the transmission works fine, but I do not know when the filter was changed last, and they are easy and cheap to replace. The truck feels like it needs shocks to me. If your in an area with good roads you may choose not to change them but shocks for this are pretty cheap also. This pickup has factory dual tanks but I have only used the front tank. The truck has a new fuel pump. The original spare tire is included.

BODY

The body is in excellent original condition. There is NO rust-through! There is nothing even close to rust through. I have inspected the truck thoroughly and I have many undercarriage/underfloor pics I can send. This pickup was in Ft. Benton Montana from 1979-2023. This is dry high desert Montana country. No salt. The body is very straight. The paint is original. No signs of any paint work ever or any collision work ever. I know old classics very well and I've painted several myself, so I can easily tell if something has had paint work done in the past. There is no filler anywhere and I have checked the entire body with a digital thickness gauge, which will detect filler if it is undetectable by eye. The doors, hood and tailgate operate as they should. I will list these body parts that were inspected but it is not limited to these. Specific body areas inspected: Hood, front fenders, inner fenders, roof, cowl, firewall, floors, floor supports, cab supports, roof, pillars, doors, back of cab, door jams, sills, box floor, tailgate, rear quarters/box sides, rear inner fenders, front of box and box supports. The rear bumper is original, but I would personally change it to a chrome model and they are readily available new. The paint isn't perfect, but very nice for an original 1979.

INTERIOR

The interior appears to be all original. It is in pretty nice shape. The seat has minor wear on the drivers side. It is possibly repairable by an upholsterer, but replacement upholstery is available. The carpet is original and in ok shape, but could be replaced easily and they are very affordable. The dash and gauge area is in good shape. The dash is made from a different material as the glovebox door, and the glovebox has faded. The factory radio is in place. It does not seem to work so I'm not sure if the speaker is bad or if the radio is bad or disconnected. The interior is usable as-is, but there are a few things you could choose to replace.

This old beauty is sold as-is. Thanks for looking. I accept wire transfer only for payment. It is very safe and fast. Your bank can call my bank if needed if they'd like to confirm everything is legitimate. I need to have full payment received within three business days. I will store the truck for one month free, and $75 a month after that. I am happy to help arrange shipping and I can assist the shipper loading the truck.
