Description of 1971 Fiat 850 Spider Convertible

A rare opportunity to own a beautiful 1971 Fiat Spider 850 by Bertone.
Spider Convertible with the later models upgraded 903cc engine with a 4-speed manual transmission!
The prior owners spent close to $20,000 on a frame-off restoration paying a lot of attention to detail. It has been well cared for since and stored inside. The car was stripped to bare metal and repainted with its original Ferrari red (see pictures).
It starts right up and runs great with no smoking, dripping or leaking. A fun car to take for drives.
The car has a clean Florida Title in the sellers name.
Inspections:
We welcome mechanical inspections since we understand that it is a risk to purchase a car unseen. Upon request, we will be happy to deliver the vehicle to a local mechanic of your choice for your prepaid inspection. We charge a flat fee of $200 for towing and time spent for a roundtrip to a mechanic within a 25 mile radius of zip code 33186.
About the FIAT 850:
The Fiat 850 Coupe and Spider were produced between the years 1965-74. The car sported a rear 850cc engine which donated its floor-plan, drivetrain and all independent suspension to a neat little Fiat designed four seat fastback coupe or a Bertone bodied two seater roadster such as this particular example. Both models proved quite popular in the U.S, particularly the Spider, which was seen as the Italian entry into the sports market to compete with the other European imports from the U.K. such as the British Triumphs and MG's. The engine size was increased in 1969 to 903cc. These cars are notable for being the last of Fiat's rear engine sports models.
Of the roughly 125,000 Spiders produced about 87,000 were imported to the US but surprisingly few remain and even fewer in excellent condition.
