Description of 1977 Fiat Other |
For Sale is my 1977 Fiat 124 Spider NO RESERVERecently completed an 800 mile trip from Seattle to San FranciscoThe previous owner said the motor was recently rebuilt. however I have no documentation for the build. Has very little rust. and is pretty original and straight. 1800cc twin cam motor. Weber 32ADFA carb. 5 Speed. Shifts smoothly. no grinding ever. brakes and handles nicely. Odometer reads a little over 54. 00. which the previous owner believed to be correct. however the title says "exempt odometer disclosure" and lists mileage as 0000000. Was repainted a purple/blue with a little bit of metal flake. Was originally orange. as can be seen on the inside of the doors. Paint looks pretty good from 20 feet. but has some cracks and chips and is fading a little bit on the front fenders. Its a dark purple. which looks blue in low light. Has one penny sized dent at the front of the hood. which is barely noticeable. All the glass is good. have most. if not all the trim and badges. Has a newer top that doesn't leak. which looks good from the outside. but could use a little touching up on the inside. Have the front bumper. Interior is decent. driver's seat is torn. but the other seats are pretty good. Wood all looks good. dash has a couple cracks in the vinyl. Door cards look very usable. Carpet looks very good. New waterpump/alternator belt. tires have great tread. but the right rear tire has a slow leak. New spark plugs and wires. Engine was running great. but started running a little rough on my drive down from Washington. Carb was rebuilt. but still needs a little tuning. Installed a toggle switch for the electric fan. nbsp;under the steering column to override the notoriously faulty temperature switch on the radiator. Temperature gauge and oil pressure gauge need to be hooked up. other gauges are working. Has a cool old "Sparkomatic" radio. and an equalizer under the dash. Turn signals and windshield wipers are not hooked up either. She is a fun little classic Italian convertible. Comes with a clean Washington title and Washington collectors plates. Car runs as she sits. but "coughs" at the carburetor when cold and has difficulty going wide open throttle. I've been told that the timing should be adjusted for this. I drive the car about once a week. let her warm up. and drive her around my neighborhood. Beyond that. the "coughing" issue should be addressed for ease of driving. I have too many cars. and sadly. this one needs to go. Has the smog pump on it still. but the belt is not hooked up. and thus will NOT pass CA smog test as is. I will include a new belt with sale. If car stays in California. I will not be responsible for smogging the car. that part is up to the buyer (just wanted to be clear about that). An easy. pretty. classic project with good bones. Sold as is with no warranty implied or expressed. I can assist with shipping on my end (loading the car) but shipping and/or delivery is up to the buyer. and at the buyer's expense. I can deliver the car to Port of Oakland for an additional $200 to assist with International buyers. I welcome personal inspections to those interested. car is located in San Francisco. Will accept cash in person. money order or check (will release vehicle upon clearing) or bank wire transfer. Note: I realized it says I have 0% Positive Feedback. That is because I haven't sold anything on eBay and received feedback within the last 12 months. All my feedback has been positive. |
