Description of 1940 Ford Other Pickups

This is a 1940 Ford pickup with a 1953 Ford flathead. Original restored suspension and tubes shocks on all 4 corners. Engine is bored .030", as an Isky cam, dmund aluminum heads, enton aluminum dual carb intake, ustom built electronic distributor and tube headers. This is backed up by a 3 speed manual transmission and the original rearend. 15"Ford truck wheels covered with genuine MOON Disc

NOTE: I have a Columbia 2 speed rearend which is included in the sale. I had it in the truck since the original build but it recently broke and I never looked into repairing it.

The top is chopped 3 ½", ith a v-butted windshield, haved door hands, renched in power AM FM CB antenna in the upper right hand corner of the cab. The hood has been chopped 4"inches in the front. We cut it above the raised rib, ront to back and tucked the top of the hood in behind the lower section and welded it back together. Front hood trim was molded in for a smooth clean look. The cowl vent has also been leaded shut also to create a smooth clean look. The front fenders are fiberglass and the running boards are the original steel. The front and rear bumpers arerechromed1949 Plymouth.

The flat bed of the truck is made from cherry wood, hich is tongue and grooved 1 ½"plank and assembled with brass screws. NOTE: There are 2 spots( white) in the bed which need to have the planks turned over to rid of the bad spots. Long story why they are there. The front and back of the bed is finished off with Stainless steel sheet and 1953 Ford pick-up tail lights with blue dots and the Ford script

The steering column is out of a 69 Mustang Grande, t has a functional rim blow horn, ilt and a kick away wheel. Original vacuum windshield wiper and Beverly Hills power window kit . I made the custom dash from walnut with all gauges angled up 5 degrees and the smaller gauges are angled toward the driver at 5, , 1,13 and 15 degrees. All Gauges are Stewart Warner Stage III. It has a Midland CB and a Clarion AM FM Cassette radio.

It runs and starts great. Very dependable. The Dark Night Mist Blue paint still presents very well but it is Lacquer, o you will notice there are some cracks in the paint from age.

My Grandfather purchased this truck new for the family farm. Over the years it was used daily. In my early teens I wanted to get it running again to learn to drive. One thing led to another and this is what I have today. I drove it to my first Street Rod Nationals at Columbus, hio in 1978 and then to many more nationals in Tulsa, K., t. Paul, N., nd Louisville, Y. Man, many FUN miles and Great memories.
