Description of 19680000 Ford Mustang

Up for sale is my 1968 Ford Mustang which I have owned since 2003. This is a verysolid Florida car and I purchased it inFloridafrom an elderely gentlemen 12 years ago. He claimed his children drove it toschool and he kept it many years. At present I do not have time for this project so would like to sell it to an ethusiast mustang builder.

I have many parts for this vehicle and I will try to list them all. I have additional trim pieces and miscellaneous parts in the trunk such as original air cleaner assembly. This vehicle still has its originalfender tag on the right fender. The color is original.I began with replacing some parts of the floor pans and there were only a few pieces that needed replacement. thus there is no work needed on the floor pans. Several pieces offloor pans were welded by a professional body shop andthe fit is excellent-and i paid good money to have it done. The rocker panels and shock towers are solid as a rock and no holes. The frame rail and torque boxes are sold with some surface rust. The reardeck lid in the rear came off a 1968mustang(see pic white color)from Arizona-fits perfect.(some of the replacements fit poorly) I have a complete set of sound deadening mats for the car. I havebrand newmolded carpet for front an rear. There was some bodo workdone on the passengerquarter panel(see pic)although the steel is solid-could just be refinished or use of a quarter patch panel. The hood is notin pic but I have the original and there are no dents on top of it and could berefinished.

The glass appears all original and no cracks. Some of the window regulators work but not all. I have some parts that fix the regulators.I have all new window moldings(see pic-attaches on top of doors and rear window.) The car is sitting on a set of new tires(correct size for the 1968and has all theoriginal wheels. I have a set of4 matching hub caps. Both doors open and close easily and no broken (sagging doors)hinges. I have new inner door handles. (still got the original ones on car) Have new arm rests. Thebody panel gapsarefactory correct and doors are original. Thedoors open and shut and click right in-like Ford's always do!

All the electrical wires and harness are original and have not been tampered with. Whenthe car was drivable, nbsp;the front light, ear tail lights, rake lights, ack-up lights, instrument lights and dome lights allworked well. The gas tank isin placethough probably needs to be cleaned out. There isa rusted out area under the battery tray. I have the new battery traye. There is only surface rust in the trunk and no gappingholes. The top of the car has no dents and underneath theroof it is all solid. I have a new black headliner(not installed)--the original one was light blue. I have all the original seat belts.

The original interior(seats) was two tone light blue and dark blue.National Parts Depot has all the extra parts you will need to finish the car and they have stores in Ocala, l, ichigan, nd California

I drove the carafterI bought itand it drove well except for a cracked piston so that is when I pulled the engine. I had the engine rebuilt at a local shop in Lake City Florida at the NAPA machine shop. He suggested all the best parts for the job and I bought them all and he put it together. See pic. He used a better 302 block that he had on hand. The engine was rebuilt about a year ago and when it was on engine stand it turned over by handwithout any problens. I will give you an engine stand. This car has factoryair conditioning and I still have the original unitand brackets. The 302 engine has been completely rebuilt and because this car is a J code--the V8302 is period correct for this car. All new brakes were installed. This has manual brakes and I had all new hardware, ewbrake rotors, ew cylinders installedon all fourcornersand a new master cylinder--they were adjusted and when I drove the car it stopped without any problems.

New bumpers/new bumper supports and bolt kit. New radiator/shroud/fan and all new belts. Newroof liner. New edelbrock intake and new double pumper Holley carbeurator(I prefer Holley-adjusts easier). New seatreupulstered and done by professionalupholstery shop. New various rubbermoldings for trunk. New rubber molding for front windshield and rear window.Newer GT gas cap/ Have quad tailpipe rear valance installedon the car.Newcomplete exhaust system with flowmasters series II. New headers and drop spindle for spacing. New door panels with hardware(see pic). New complete tailight covers and chrome benzel. New cutout for package tray. New dome light assembly. New valve covers(see pic). New chrome molding for front edge of hood. Set ofnew chrome guard railfor door threshold.(see pic)New water pump/new alternator. New hood hinges with springs. Have original mustang grill with running pony.

Granted this will take a lot of love and hours to restore but I think this car already has a head start with a lot of new parts and solid frame. Thanks for looking.

For any other details I can be reached at 386-292-5617 Ray.(preferably after 11:00am and before 12midnite) I have alot invested in the engine rebuild, ody workfor the floor pans, rake work and other miscellaneous repairs/parts.I would like to recoup some of this money.

Overall this is a solid Mustang that I feel has lots of potential. Make offer.

This could make a nice summer project for somebody out there. Thanks for looking. Have a great day.
