Description of 1979 Ford F-250 Ranger Lariat |
Auto restoration shop offers this 1979 Ford F250 4x4 Lariat ¾ ton pickup. I'm a licensed vintage auto appraiser, n my travels sometimes I get lucky and see vintage iron in small farm towns. I knocked on a door when I saw this truck, nded up bringing it home. I buy choice high optioned vintage trucks to re-sell on eBay, 've sold quite a few 73-79 Fords in the past couple years. Hard to find factory 79 Lariat. 79 seems to be the most desired Ford truck year as it's the last of this body style, ith this Lariat package being the highest optioned. This is a perfect mild project for a beginner restoration. The mechanicals are good, he body is mostly good, ore labor and time involved than expensive parts. No reserve auction sold to the highest bidder! Click this link for a 7 minute YouTube of this truck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WuuXFX9wLY Click this Photobucket link for pictures of this truck. http://s953.photobucket.com/user/fj40man79/library/1979%20Ford%20F250%20Lariat MECHANICAL The original 400 has been rebuilt 5-6 years ago according to the previous owner, few thousand miles on it since. Motor sounds and runs great, pgraded to an Edelbrock intake and electric choke 4 barrel carburetor. Original Dana 44 front disc brake axle with original Dana 60 rear axle. Rear axle has a limited slip or some type of locker. It's non-ratcheting so I assume it's a limited slip. Nice shifting automatic C6 to a gear driven 205 transfer case (part time case). AC is all there and intact, ven works. I'm sure it could use a recharge, t's R12, ut can be converted to 134A with a $15 kit. I've driven the truck 15 miles, o problems arose, o troubling grinds or noises, ouldn't take it on a long trip yet without more testing. BODY The body looks to be all original, ostly in great condition. The worst part of the body is the interior part of the bed. Heavy rubber mat was in there for years causing moisture to collect. Some holes in bed, an be stitch welded with some patch work, ould do that then Linex over it once the surface rust has been treated. Frame is excellent, any pictures on the link with the flash on.
I will have the physical title back from the state in my name any day, ummer season takes 6-8 weeks, ill update add when received, ure you will have it before you get the truck. I have a shipper broker whom I can put you in contact with or work with your shipper. Title and truck leave my possession only after payment in full has been cleared. I take bank to bank wire, ashier's check in mail with tracking # or cash in hand within 3 business days closed auction. Feedback less than 10? Email 1st with phone # or be cancelled. I USPS the papers directly after payment is cleared. Please look at all the pictures on the PhotoBucket link and watch the video, f you have additional questions, lease ask. Happy Bidding!!!! I don't have time to do any additional work to this truck, old as you see it. I welcome 3rd party inspections at my shop during not after the auction. Skip Auto Appraisals & Pre-Buy Inspections, own that business.
