This 1978 Ford F250 4x4 is for sale on a no reserve auction. This truck constantly is the center of attention everywhere it goes. You get looks, question, and tons of compliments. It is rarer to find one in black with the Ranger package. All the chrome trim really makes this thing stand out from the crowd. This has the bulletproof drivetrain with 400M V8, C6 trans, NP205 transfer case, Dana 60LS rear, Dana 44 front, and 4.10 gears! Rear was just rebuilt with Richmond gears and Mosler axles. 33 x 12.5 x 16.5 BF Goodrich Mud Terrains (approx 60%) on period correct alloy wheels. I wish they built trucks like this still today! Mechanically, this truck has had a lot done to it to help the 400M perform better. Front tank has been removed a long time ago to allow for more fuel delivery. Motor was rebuilt with a mild Lunati cam with 10.5 to 1 compression. It has an electric fuel pump, Hedman headers, Edelbrock intake, Flowmaster crossover exhaust, MSD ignition, Accel distributor, Ford racing wires, Ford racing valve covers, and Holley carb. It starts right up and really runs strong. One of the belts just started squeaking lightly when you start it, I'll try to pick one up to go along with it. Carb could use a little fine tuning depending on your driving stile but it starts, idles, and drives perfectly fine. The heater core has been bypassed as it was never really driven in the winter. As far as the interior goes, you won't find many cleaner. The seat had a seat cover on it's whole life so the stock seat is practically perfect with no stains, rips, or tears. The carpet is very nice. It may have a few minor spots but I didn't shampoo it either. Dash is great with no cracks or extra holes. The headliner is an upgraded vinyl that is tear free. Truck doesn't seem to ever have been smoked in. The exterior is in way above average condition. It has been garage kept for the last 20 years and it definitely shows. The paint still shines great. There are some minor scratches, dings, etc but nothing major. Worst small dent is on driver's side rear bed. It has had some older restoration work done on the door bottoms in a few spots but is all solid. There is some very minor spots of rust on the rear bed quarter panel and passenger rear rocker. These are just surface and could be fixed pretty easily if someone cared to. Right now, it looks great so I just always left it as is. The fender flares are minorly pulled away in a few spots, just need to be clamped and re-taped or siliconed. It never really bothered me. Underneath has old undercoating that goes over what appears to be minor rust. It's bleeding through in a few spots but no major scale or frame rot. The exhaust has a few minor leaks here and there from a pinhole or rust but sounds great and doesn't rattle or shake. The floor bed is all solid and has had a cover on it for a long time. There of course is minor wear and tear on the inside bed but nothing major. No dents, gouges, etc. Comes with tonneau cover, factory running boards (in the bed), extra set of 16.5 steel wheels, and a few more odds/ends parts that all fit in the bed.
