1957FORD SHORT BUS

This is a clean old bus project and is straight with no rust-through. These old short buses are really cool and make great rod projects. These buses also look great chopped and/or lowered. They alsomake sweet vintage motorhomes. Guys are also using them for tow rigs that you can put sleeping quarters in. I think a bus would make a great food, ce cream truck, offee shop, ending truck, r? I've seen people use them for vending at car shows or to haul show bikes or race bikes. Kids especially like these old buses. This bus has an exceptional body that is rust free and very straight. The motor runs nice but it will need a little work before being driveable. Clear title. Thanks and happy bidding.

MECHANICAL

This bus has a y-block V8. It most likely is the 292 cubic inch. The motor runs nice, nd doesn't smoke. The bus needs some work before being driven though. This has a hydraulic clutch and it either needs bled, r the slave cylinder replaced/repaired. This is a fairly easy and cheap repair. The brakes don't work and they either need bled and/or the master cylinder repaired/replaced. The fuel system needs cleaned I'm sure and it may need a fuel pump. I just filled the carb with gas to get it running with a gravity feed tak. I did run it for quite awhile and it did not overheat and no leaks that I saw in that time period. I'm sure the mechanicals on the bus should all be checked out but I don't see anything that will require major mechanical work. The transmission shifts into all gears and holds it on a hill. Lights work but it needs some bulbs replaced.

BODY

The body is great for an un-restored project this old. No rust in the body. No sign of any bondo anywhere except one front fender. This is the drivers fender down low, ehind the front tire. It' nothing major and I'm sure it will be a basic repair before repaint. No frame rust or floor rust. The majority of the floor in these buses was wood, nd it's in nice shape. The wheelhouses, uarters/sides, ood, enders, irewall, tc. etc. are dry. No rust on the roof, nd it's straight. For the most part, he body is very straight. Rear corner windows are broke out. I can help find replacements, s this is a wayne bus and they were common. There is a slight curve and I'm sure they could be made custom, nd I was told they might be available from wayne, ut I'm not sure about that. I'll be checking though. Some other windows need replaced but they are flat glass and cheap to get done. The hood at some point had hoodpins, ut it closes and latches like it should. The side and rear doors work.

INTERIOR

The pictures pretty much tell the story. The original seats are gone like most of these old buses. Drivers seat looks to be a 1969 chevelle seat which is cool. The dash area is in nice original shape. Pretty basic. It's fairly clean (for an old bus) and doesn't smell. Some old linoleum is on the floor. Bus seats are not hard to find and seats from a 70'-80's bus look the same and probably others.

OVERALL

I go to a lot of car shows andit's rare to seea cool short bus fixed up. When there is a custom or restored one, here is a crowd around it. This could be the talk of the carshow or campground.

THIS VEHICLE IS SOLD AS-IS. IT IS USED, LD, ND NEEDS RESTORATION.
