Description of 1951 Ford Country Squire

Up for bids is my 1951 Ford Country Squire Wagon. Just finished, his Woodie has undergone a total well documented restoration from the bare frame up. There are 4 miles on it. This vehicle was a very nice California car to start with and I have California registration history for it back to 1975. All coachwork was performed by Donn Lowe Customs. If you are not familiar with his work, ook at images of his creations on the internet. This wagon has all new wood by Rick Mack. It is Hard Rock Maple with African Mahogany inserts, inished in multiple coats of Epifanes marine varnish. All panels are assembled using stainless steel fasteners. The body has been prepped and single stage painted in Coral Flame Red (option color for 1951) using PPG products. All new rubber mouldings, ord dated glass, ias ply tires, heels, omplete stock braking system and lines, lutch, prings, ront suspension, iring, upgraded to 12 volt) correct new interior and more. All chrome plating is by Oregon Plating to "show quality". This is a meticulously detailed showpiece. Fit and finish is superb.
Drivetrain: Stock 1951 Ford flathead with dual Stromberg 97 carburetors. Offy intake and ceramic coated Fenton headers with dual exhaust. Stock 3 speed transmission, ithout overdrive. Stock rear end, tation Wagon only.
This vehicle was shown only one time in the public, ortland Oregon. Under ISCA (International Show Car Association) rules and regulations, his Woodie proved to be a class winner.
Now, purchased the engine and transmission from a private party as "rebuilt" and do not know the history of them. The engine is as seen in the photos less intake and exhaust. It sat in my shop for a while as I worked on this project among others. It starts, dles and runs great with good and even compression. But when I accelerate hard, t emits some smoke. The transmission shifts onto all gears just fine with no issues. Rather than going into the engine to assess the problem, decided that the new owner may not want the flathead and update to modern drivetrain. With that mentioned, have set the reserve to reflect the possibility of having engine work done. I have not driven the Woodie on the open highway since the show in March but start it and drive it around the house often to keep it exercised. The radio is still 6 volt and I haven't converted it to 12 volt yet.
I encourage interested parties to view this vehicle in person. A car hoist is on site and the vehicle can be inspected in detail inside and out. I tend to over describe my listings with good clear photos so there are no hidden surprises to the buyer or later to me. I have a 100% positive feedback and strive to keep it that way. This vehicle is listed locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early.Buyer is responsible for any and all shipping charges.
Please ask questions if I left something out that needs more explanation before bidding. I will return answers promptly. Thanks.
