1940 FORD SEDAN DELIVERY PROJECT CAR This car is being offered as a project car because it is my belief it isn't safe to drive the way it is. I am selling this for a friend of mine. He unfortunately had a professional (?) hot rod builder build the delivery for him. After two years he got the car back and it had various issues. He has over 40K invested which over 20K is parts and is sick about what shape the car is in. We are not trying to hide anything, s I have pictures and lists of items that we believe should be repaired. This will be a very nice ride when finished and it doesn't have far to go. The body is really close to being ready to paint. There are a few spots that need touching up, he worst being the rear fenders. They were widened 2 inches and left in rough shape. Drive train wise it runs really well. The Boss crate 306/340HP engine is super. The C4 transmition was completely rebuilt by a reputable tranny shop. I am going to let the pictures and parts list tell the story of this '40 Ford SD. I am not going to put all of the pictures on this site, ut will email them and the list of parts that are on the car if you are interested. Just get me your email address. Below is the list of what I believe needs to be fixed from the builder. There were a few other things that we fixed already so the car would run right. 1940 FORD SEDAN DELIVERY ERRORS 1. BODY IS NOT MOUNTED STRAIGHT ON THE FRAME. 2. REAR FENDERS WERE WIDENED 2in AND ARE NOT LINED UP TO THE BODY CORRECTLY. 3. THE LEFT REAR AIR BAG ONLY TRAVELS 2 ½ inches AND RUBS. 4. BOTH FRONT AIR BAGS ARE INSTALLED UPSIDE DOWN. I BELIEVE THIS IS DUE TO WRONG A- ARMS. WHEN TURNING TO THE RIGHT THE A-ARMS WILL HIT THE BRAKE CALIBER WHICH DOES NOT ALLOW IT TO ACTIVATE. 5. THE AIR RIDE SETTINGS NEED TO BE PROGRAMMED. 6. THERE ISN'T ANYWAY TO GET INSIDE OR OUT OF THE CAR IF THE BATTERY GOES DEAD. YOU WOULD NEED TO BREAK A WINDOW. 7. WHEN THE AIR RIDE IS IN THE UP POSITION, HE EXHAUST HITS IN A LOT OF PLACES. 8. THE WATER PUMP PULLEY WOBBLES. 9. THE IGNITION SWITCH ALLOWS THE ENGINE TO CONTINUE TO RUN IN THE ACCESSORY POSITION. 10. THE ENGINE AND TRANNY HAVE SERIOUS LEAKING. This vehicle is being sold as is with no warranty implied or otherwise. It has clear Nevada title and current plates.
