Up for auction is a 1966 Ford Fairlane Convertible. This car runs very well, nd is fun to drive. The car is mechanically sound, nd everything works as it should. I would not hesitate to drive this car on a long road trip. This Fairlane is mostly all original and has never been restored. The motor, ransmission, nd rear axle are date coded correct and are believed to be the originals that came in the car new. The body of the car is original with no rust. The car has had a repaint with its original color. The interior of this car is in great shape and is all original. The only things that I suspect that might have been replaced is the carpet and dash pad. Besides that it is original, nd even the factory AM radio still works. We did install a new custom audio hidden sound system in the glove box (see pictures) so the factory am radio is disconnected at this time. It has the rare center console floor shifter as well. As far as options go on this car it has a power top, ower steering, nd power brakes. Engine is a factory two barrel carburetor 289 cubic inch V-8. The valve covers are not original but were made in the time era and are not reproductions. Transmission is a C4/Cruise o'matic. There are a few things on this car that have been replaced over time. The car has an aluminum radiator with an electric fan (originals parts are included in this auction). The exhaust manifolds were replaced with headers (factory manifolds are included in this auction). The wheels are 17" American Racing Torque Thrust with like new tires (the originals are Not included in this auction). There are a few other normal wear and tear parts that have been replaced as well like shocks, xhaust, tc. I am not sure about the convertible top. I would assume that it has been replaced over the years but cant confirm if it is original or not. The odometer reads 33,xxx miles, ut is a 5 digit odometer so there is no way to tell if it has rolled over. From the condition of the car and from the way it drives I would not think that it has 133,xxx miles. Please feel free to ask questions as I am sure I am leaving a few things out. I really hate to let this car go but need the funds to support other projects at this time. It drives so good and all I ever have to do is fill up with gas and change the oil. A very low maintenance, leasure to own classic car for sure. The car is sold as is with no warranty. I have the right to end this auction at anytime as the car is listed locally for sale.
