The stunning Desert Gold paint on the truck is in extremely good condition throughout, nd while it appears factory correct and matches the 7 color code original to what should be on the truck, have to believe it was redone at some point, s it simply shows too nice!!! The prior owner didn’t paint it, nd I am still trying to track down the owner before that. Either way, he finish is stunning. It is glossy, et, nd slick looking, nd has obviously been rigorously cleaned and maintained over the years, ecause it has NO faded spots, O clear-coat issues, nd shows like it was 1980 and you were shopping for a used truck! Yes, t does have a few minor blemishes like miniscule stone chips, airline scuffs, nd other minor surface imperfections, ut certainly nothing that detracts from the overall presentation of the truck as you can tell from the 100 Extra-Large photos I provided. There is NO sign of any rust, ot, epaired, r replaced panels on the truck, nd it is about as solid an example of ANY vehicle as you could ask for. No chicken wire, eer cans, r crushed up scrap metal anywhere, nd no bondo panels either. It is steel, t is real, nd it looks to be all original too. The aluminum trim on the truck is in very good condition, nd appears to be original as well. All of the emblems and badging look great too, nd are properly affixed. Chrome front and rear bumpers look magnificent, nd giant rear step bumper has a holes for a hitch, long with a frame mounted REESE type box hitch underneath. Aluminum grill shows like new, nd has no cracks or damage evident. There is a heavy duty bed liner installed in the bed, nd I have not removed it, o I cannot tell you what the finish is like underneath, ut looking from the underside of the truck up, know that it is all steel, ooks factory, nd has NO sign of rust, ot, r any other issues. The bed liner itself looks great and has no sign of damage. Chrome bed rails look fantastic, s do the chrome mirrors, ntenna, oor handles and dual exhaust tips. Tail gate opens and closes like it should, nd has no sign of rust or rot inside, t the hinges, r anywhere else. All of the lights look like new, nd they all work like they should. The truck rides on what appears to be practically new American Racing aluminum wheels wrapped in like new Cooper Discoverer HT radial tires sized P255/70r16. Rear window has some light marks on it, ut it could be in the tint. Windshield has VERY light marks in a couple spots, ut is really good. Side windows and vent windows look perfect. All of the window seals are in excellent condition, nd show no dryness or issues. Inside the cab, ll of the door seal rubber is in excellent condition too, ith no dryness or damage. The optional vinyl chain mail bench seat is in excellent condition, ith no damage, ryness, r seam pulls. Carpet is in excellent condition, ith no stains, ips, ears, r damage. Door panels look like new, nd the galvanized door pulls show light patina from use. Window rollers and door pulls look fantastic! Windows go up and down perfectly, ith no snags or extra effort needed. Vent windows open and close as they should. Dual sun visors look great and work like they should, nd the factory headliner is in great condition and doesn’t droop down. The steering wheel with factory wrap looks amazing, nd has no cracks or issues. Horn works like it should too. Dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or damage, nd just light patina where it was factory silvered. All of the gauges work like they should and appear to be correctly calibrated. Speedometer is about 8 mph slower than GPS actual, hich I attribute to the taller than stock tire and wheel combo. Factory AM-FM radio works like it should, nd sounds great inside the cab! Glove box opens to reveal a cleanly finished interior, nd the ashtray works as well, ith a functional 12V outlet. Dome light works like it should, s do the dash lights and dimmer. All wiring looks amazing and clean, nd under dash area appears unmolested, lean, nd factory neat. Under the hood, he truck is equipped with the 302 V8 2bbl engine the VIN says it should have! Engine bay presents as well as a 20K mile, 6 year old truck should. The galvanized factory inner fenders show patina and marks from normal use, ut are solid and straight. Firewall is clean and straight, nd has the BUCK TAG affixed to it as well. Stainless steel air cleaner unit is clean, nd shows only normal signs of use and age. Factory jack with handle/lug wrench is in place. Charcoal canister filter is in place. All hoses are in good condition, ith most appearing to be newer replacements. Battery is in excellent condition, nd has not dropped down in power while the truck has been here. The factory Air Conditioning set up has been converted to an R134A refrigerant, nd blows VERY cold air, nd hot heat. Radiator is solid, lean, ooks to be the original unit, nd does not leak. During my time with the truck, t has NOT run hot once, r even went over the mid-point on the functional gauge. The engine itself has the requisite blue FORD paint that looks great, ut is not perfect. It has some little marks on it, nd signs of normal use and wear, ut for a 36 year old engine, t shows VERY well! Mechanically speaking, he truck has been a dream to have around the store! It starts right up, dles cleanly, oesn’t smoke or leak, nd is ready to go whenever you are. Snick the Select-Shift Automatic into gear, nd the truck pulls away with plenty of power, nd shifts smoothly and cleanly through all the gears until you get to cruising speed. I used the truck to pull my 18’ Aluma car trailer with a motorcycle on on back, nd it worked PERFECTLY, ith a modern CURT box hitch underneath and modern wiring harness for the trailer. The chassis itself is clean, eat, nd free of rust, ot, nd globs of “undercoating spray” a lot of places use to hide things. The metal is clean, nd panels are clean, nd everything looks more like it is 6 years old instead of 36. The exhaust system shows oxidation in spots, ut it is NOT rust/rot. If you hit it with a wire brush, t comes off to reveal clean metal. Same can be said for a few exposed bolts and things. Spare tire is intact and hanging under the rear of the chassis. I have NOT removed it, ut it appears original, nd is mounted on a steel rim. Overall, he truck is SUPER solid underneath, ERY clean, nd you probably think it was just a few years old if you saw it from the underside in person. The truck doesn’t do anything funny when you drive it. It feels like it is 1980 and you are shopping for a clean pre-owned truck. There are no known mechanical, lectrical, r functional issues at this time, ther than the aforementioned speedometer calibration being off. This truck is ready to go.
