Description of 1962 Ford F-100 |
This 1962 Ford F100 was found on a farm. The previous owners had started to do some work to it and I took over the project. It appears that the bed and body do not match but that is how they came from Ford in Late 1962. Ford was having problems with the unibody design used in 1961 and 1962. In mid 1962 they started using 1963 bodies and 1960 beds to build 4x4 trucks because the unibodies were flexing. In the last month or two of 1962 Ford did the same with a few rare 2wd trucks. This is one of them. This truck is a custom cab model which included extra trim around the windows and the interior. Truck is very solid with a great patina. A few dings and dents and only 4 small spots of rust. (both lower front fenders, river door sill and a small spot in the bed about the size of a dime. The front window is intact but cracked. All the other glass is original and perfect. Window regulators work. There is currently no engine installed but included is a 289 and c4 that I pulled from a running 65 Galaxie about 6 months ago. The engine is complete from oil pan to carburetor. An aftermarket motor mount has already been installed and the front end of the truck has been lowered with a flip axle. Interior is in good shape with solid floors and an exceptionally nice bench seat. The fuel tank has been flushed and is ready for use. A spare driveshaft is included but will need to be cut for the c4. I planned to turn this into a nice shop truck and keep the patina but I have been busy with other projects and this has gone on the back burner. This would make a great cruiser for anyone looking for something different. This truck does not have a title since it was found on a farm and they could not locate it. Only a Bill of Sale will be included in the purchase. I have had the VIN checked by DMV and this truck is no longer in the system so there are no back fees. I also had the VIN verified by the local Sheriff and everything is legit. I have the correct paperwork from myself and the previous owner as well if the vehicle will be titled in California. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask. I will not arrange shipping or provide transportation for the buyer. The truck is stored in a garage and I will roll it out to an area where it can be loaded onto a trailer or flatbed. |
