We just purchased this Shay Model A from the previous Montana owner who inherited it last year from his elderly mother who bought it BRAND NEW from a Chevrolet dealer in Montana and as you can tell it was their pride and joy for sure !! It only has 3,464 ACTUAL - ORIGINAL miles since BRAND NEW and yes we do have an odometer statement !! It is EXTREMELY RARE as only 1,928 Ford Model A Shay Deluxe Roadster Coupes were built in 1980 and they tell me it's the one to have !! Harry J. Shay, ounder and President of the Shay Motors Corporation, as allowed complete patent oversight by the Ford Motor Company to reproduce the 1928 Ford Model A for a limited production run of 10,000 units. The fiberglass bodies were produced using the original Model A molds provided by Ford who also provided the drivetrains and handled all of the inital marketing and sales. The early Shay Model A Roadsters were sold at Ford, incoln and Mercury dealerships all over the U.S. and saw a popularity not seen by Ford since the introduction of the Ford Mustang in 1964. A total of 10,000 Model A Roadsters were ordered and only 5,000 total vehicles were built before the Shay Motors Corporation went bankrupt and halted production. You can now own aVERY NICE Shay Model A Roadster that is getting EXTREMELY hard to find !! This Model A Shay Roadster also still retains it's - FACTORY ORIGINAL -correctly mounted dash mounted Ford VIN tag which is also shown in a photo below !! Sounds good too with the factory style catalytic exhaust system.The engine is backed by a SMOOTH - Four speed manual transmission which is also functioning very well. It has great power and also cruises at freeway speeds, ow could it get any better ?!!
