Description of 1979 Ford F-250 Custom |
If you have been waiting for a 4 door 79 4x4, on't miss this one. This is a true 1979 F250 crew cab 4x4 short bed built March 1979. This truck has an interesting history. I bought this truck from a gentleman in Montana. The guy I bought it from has known this truck for over 20 years. The story goes on as it was brought to a body shop over 20 years ago to have the front fender and tailgate replaced, nd to to repair the bed where someone was going to mount a goose neck ball (that is why there is a round hole in the bed, he truck was never finished). It sat for 20 years until a man in Montana, ho owned a 5000 acre ranch, ought it. He paid the last owner to put a rubber floor mat in, ew dashboard, nd recover the seats. Also they put a new back bumper, ew Toyo open country tires, T 265/75/16 tire, nd the Ford wheels that are on it. Just the center caps are over $600. The wheels are probably $800 per wheel. They look so good you would think they were new. Since the truck was going to be repainted over 20 years ago the door panels were lost. Included is a full set of correct door panels I am going to install. I still have to install the headliner and dome light also. So setting for 20 years and at the body shop, t has accumulated a bit of over spray, hus the silverish tint. The windshield and all glass is like new, indshield may be new. Moving on in the story, he man that owned the ranch was approached by a gentleman wanting to purchase the ranch. In the sale, he gentleman purchasing the ranch wanted everything the way he first saw it. The house, he furniture, he cars parked there, tc. This truck was not there, s it was at the shop, etting its seats redone, o it was not included in the ranch sale. After selling his ranch he had no use for this truck any longer, o he sold it the man recovering the seats and he later sold it to me. Now for the truck, veryone believes this to be a 59,778 mile truck, es we believe the mileage to be correct. What are the biggest indicators on why we believe this? The body is straight as an arrow except for a minor dent in rear passenger door, he front and rear sway bar bushings are still in excellent shape, t still has stock factory muffler and exhaust pip with stock hangers. Not one of the of the plastic door strikers are broken (they are always broken), he clutch works like new, o chatter, ust smooth. It has a full brake pedal and driving it you can tell the drive line just don't have the slack consistent with a hundred thousand mile truck. The paint is always gone on the drivers door where you roll down the window and rest your arm, ot on this truck. The roof is like new, O RUST! Front corners are like new, O RUST! All it would take to make this a 25K plus truck is a spray in bed liner and a little wet sanding and paint. This truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end sale early. Thank You Brett |
