AN EB THAT'S READY FOR THE HIGHWAY OR OFFROAD! 302 V8, NEW AOD, COLD AC, PS, PB The parade of incredible early Broncos continues here at Streetside Classics, and each one seems better than the last. This 1974 Ford Bronco is loaded with desirable options, beautifully finished, and dressed for adventure, making it the one Bronco that will always be on everyone's must-have list. Treated to a lot of recent work, this Candyapple Red Bronco is every bit as nice as it looks in photos. Not perfect, but just right for a vehicle that's likely to go play in the dirt fairly often. Bodywork is straight, details are crisp, and the finish is deep and shiny, so someone obviously cared about getting it right, even if it was a few years ago. The top was painted contrasting white, and it gives this Bronco a more finished look that takes it a step above mere off-road tool. There aren't any major modifications beyond some detail items, mostly because the Bronco was one of those designs that was right from the very start. Heavy-duty tubular steps, a factory swing-away rear tire carrier, a bumper-mounted winch, and hood locks give it a highly functional look that works just as well on or off the pavement. New rubber, tinted glass, and brightly finished emblems all add to this truck's massive appeal, and you'll note that it's a factory dual gas tank truck, shown by the dual filler caps. Early Broncos were noted for their bare-bones interiors, but this one has been upgraded with comfortable commuting in mind, even in the Texas heat. New 4-point harnesses are wrapped around a pair of comfortable and supportive Corbueau black bucket seats, and there's a matching bench in back. Dark red carpets are a nice touch, adding some insulation and a slightly more luxurious feel, which is all part of the plan. The contrasting white dash keeps things bright inside, and you'll note a complete dealer-installed A/C system in place underneath that's quite powerful. Dakota Digital gauges were neatly installed in the original housing, with an auxiliary temperature gauge underneath, and a custom tilt column makes it easy to get comfortable. For entertainment there's a brand new JVC head unit with Polk Audio speakers, and there's plenty of room behind the back seat for a weekend's worth of gear for an adventure just about anywhere. Mechanically, this is the early Bronco you want to own. Carrying a robust 302 cubic inch V8, it delivers Mustang-like performance just about anywhere. It's been fortified with an Edelbrock carburetor and intake manifold, an MSD ignition, and a massive aluminum radiator to keep it cool under just about any conditions. You can see where all the money was spent, with bright, clean components throughout, Ford Blue on the block, and an auxiliary transmission cooler mounted up high where it can't get hurt. Power steering and power brakes are welcome upgrades on any off-roader, as are the Bilstein shocks and an AOD 4-speed automatic transmission that makes it a great highway cruiser. The chassis is original and quite clean, showing off an easy life in a warm climate. A Flowmaster dual exhaust system gives it an aggressive soundtrack, and it sits on bright aluminum wheels with 30x9.5-15 BFGoodrich off-road radials. This Bronco gets all the important stuff exactly right and it's obvious someone has been sweating the details. If you've been looking for a good one, this is it. Call now!
