1929 Ford Model A1929 Ford Model A. This car was built for the 2010 Goodguys Hot rod nationals. We started with a very solid Model A 5 window coupe from Virginia, removed all the wood structure and replaced it with 1'' x 1'' steel square tubing. We repaired what very little rust was in the car manly the rear inner fender wells, installed an all steel floor and added additional floor braces. After the body was blasted and all the massage work was done (widenedthe front cowl, converted the rumble seat to a trunk, added a 3.5'' chop to the top and installed the power four panel glasspanoramicroof) it was painted with PPG highline base coat clear coat (Lemon ice) and wet sanded and buffed to get the flat glass look we was wanting. Then we set the body on the Pete and JakesChassis and front dropaxle. The 10 bolt GM positraction rear end wasinstalled and the Unister half rack steering. All rolling on Coker wide whites and smothie wheels. The 1932 grill was set low and is an all steel grill shell. Of course weinstalledall new door latched, glass,Painless wiring harness, lights, gauges, column, and seals. Now it is time for the drive train. Started with a 350 small block ground off all castings and smoothed out he block and heads. Then we bored .0030 over with a dish piston (8.5-1 compression). The cam is a crane 480 lift and 280 duration hydraulic lifter forreliability. Thecylinderhead was completely rebuilt and now it was time for the money shot........ The 471 weiand blower with 2 Edelbrock 500CFMcarburetors. This was all matched up to a 350 turbo automatic transmission with a lite shift kit. This motor with all the boost was rated over 500HP. At one of the fun runs at Summit Motor Speedway we raced the car for fun and in ran a 12.1 in the 1/4 mile at 108 MPH. The great thing about this car is you can drive it anywhere and is as mild as you would want it to be. Now for the final touch. After the 600 watt stereo system with 2 amplifiers 4mid-rangespeakers,4 tweeters and 2 10'' sub-woofer was installed, The car was sent the Doanupholstery and he covered the original seat and custom made the rest of the interior in saddle tan in anostalgicpattern. This is an amazing car with more money invested that I want to think about. I have drove this car 1746 milessince it was built and it drivesabsolutelyamazing. Drives straight stops straight. I drove this car all three days to the Goodguys Nationals over an hour each way. Its one thing to buy a car that is top shelf and stunning in its appearance but this car is the wholepackagestunning and runs and drives even better than it looks. If you have anyquestionsabout the car please feel free to call me at 419-971-6813. Thanks fpr looking.
