Description of 1929 Ford Model A 5-Window Coupe, Trades Accepted |
All vehicle trades considered, including classics and performance. I can assist with financing and transport as needed. There are plenty of street rods on the market. But there aren’t many as nice as this 1929 Model A 5-window coupe. This well constructed Ford is the product of a 4-year nut-and-bolt effort completed in 2008 using quality parts and craftsmanship throughout. It obviously looks great inside and out, but with Ford 351W power and a Mustang 5-speed transmission it has the performance to match. Not to mention a superb hot rod sound! Titled as a 1929 Ford, this Model A sits on a custom fabricated frame made specifically for this build. It is fully boxed with provisions for the Ford V8, T5 transmission, rack and pinion steering, 9†rear end, and more. The steel body was stripped down and any bad panels were repaired or replaced as needed. Countless parts were updated or reconditioned; door handles, latches, window seals, glass, window regulators, radiator shell, body mounts, and much more. Prior to finishing, the car was assembled and driven a few miles to ensure everything fit together and worked properly. It was then taken back apart and all the parts were painted, plated, or polished. The body was done in Ford Blazing Copper Metallic with Oxford White accents. The paint looks fantastic, especially with the matching wheels with wide white tires. The drivetrain is not some run-of-the-mill Chevy small block; this one is all Ford! The engine is a 351W that started life in a 1987 Crown Victoria. Highlights include an Edelbrock intake manifold, camshaft, and carburetor with electric choke. It starts right up without a fuss and makes a fantastic sound through the short exhaust. A second exhaust is also included which extends to the door ends. The T5 transmission with hydraulic clutch is easy to operate and gives an overdrive gear for relaxed highway driving. The hairpin front suspension uses a drop axle setup, while out back is a triangulated 4-link with coilovers on a 9†axle. There is rack and pinion steering which is very responsive and has a great feel. The car also has good stopping power with front disc brakes. The mechanical systems are all nicely finished and have a gorgeous look. The excellent custom interior was done with matching two-tone leather. The seats, headliner, and door panels all carry the same copper and white theme as the exterior. The wooden dash looks fantastic with the white faced gauges, all of which work properly. There is a tilt column which really helps ingress / egress on this type of hot rod. The car also has seat belts, turn signals, a horn, and a parking brake. Note there are no windshield wipers. An AM/FM/CD stereo is also present (though it seems redundant with the noises this car makes). The trunk is completely finished and houses the battery. This was a professional build with 6,000 miles since completion. This is no rat rod! Rather, this wonderful Model A is comfortable, reliable, and will stand out wherever you go. Everything is well sorted out and a binder of receipts and photos is also included. It’s all the fun you could you want from an old Ford. |
