Description of 1928 Ford Model A |
|
Note: eBay requested this item be re-listed as I listed it in eBay Motors Parts & Accessories instead of eBay Motors cars/trucks for sale. So here we go again! Offered for sale is my early 1928 Canadian Model A roadster. This is an original car with original Ford steel - a great car. I am hopeful the high bidder commits to restoring this car for show as it is very solid and Canadian Model A's are rare. I honestly believe this car is too nice to hotrod. The car has a clear Michigan title. It is unlikely that you will find another unrestored 1928 Canadian Model A Roadster. Simply put this is a rare Model A Ford. Model A walk around video Engine running video This original Ford steel car and was put in primer in the 1970's by my elderly neighbor. I purchased the car over 10 years ago and the car has remained indoors in storage. I had the tank media blasted (to remove varnish) and sealed, replaced the exhaust, installed a NOS Honeycomb radiator and went through the ignition. I have used the vehicle sparingly (out for ice cream) with intentions on doing a points restoration. However, after 10 years, I realized I would not have time to do so until retirement. I am representing this car as a solid car with minimal rust. A strong foundation for a great car. The car remains stored in an aircraft hanger and I have not run it this season. Particulars:*The car sits in what appears to be close to original condition. *The screws are the square torque type unique to Canadian Model A Ford's.*The engine has Canadian markings.*This is an early 1928 Model A with (emergency brake on the left side)*Mechanical brakes work (however, one or two of the brake rods have a welded repair)*Mechanical shocks are in good working condition.*The fenders are solid with no tears;*Running boards are solid.*Has original wood floor (which apparently also served as the engine crate when put together) *The top bows are in good condition. *Transmission shifts fine.*Engine runs, however, it does not look as it has ever been apart since new and will likely need reconditioning in the future.*The headlight lens (or lenses - can't remember has a crack);*The chrome bumpers etc, are likely original and were wrapped in newspaper when disassembled in the 1970's and likely need reconditioning.*Included are boxes of spare parts I have collected over the years, including wiring harness etc. (Probably several hundred dollars in spares - many new) Rust:*This is a very solid car. The only apparent rust is the floor pan in the rumble seat area which will need a patch panel along with a small amount of rust in the outer fender wells. The car is located inside an airport hanger in Troy, Michigan which is a suburb of Detroit, Michigan. Inspections available upon request. I reserve the right to end the auction early. Feel free to ask any questions. Local pickup. I can help load if required. I have received a couple of questions regarding the engine / Vin number. Stamped on the engine is the following number *CA14607* which decodes to being built on June 30, 1928 per the Model A Ford garage website. Canadian Model A EnginesModel A engines were also built and assembled in East Windsor (Ford City), Ontario. Canadian-produced Model A engine numbers were also stamped on the engine block left hand side, the same location as US-produced engines. The engine number consisted of prefix letters and a unique numeric serial number. The prefix was preceded by a ☆ character. The numeric serial number was followed by a closing ☆ character.
