Description of 1931 Ford Model A |
Up for sale, or trade, is my 1931 Ford Model A truck project. The cab and bed are real Henry Ford steel and it comes with a clear Nevada 1931 Ford Model A truck title in my name. I picked them up together from Parowan, Utah. The sub floor is intact and in great condition. The cab will need some sheet metal work (lower patch panels, over the door panels and some upper back of the cab smoothing out) to make it perfect. . ..if you desire. Overall it is a super solid cab. The bed had already been shortened when I purchase it and I disassembled it for storage. The 1960 Ford 292 Y-Block engine was pulled out of running 1960 Ford F100 truck here locally. I have a video of it running prior to removal. The engine is complete. I stripped it down to degrease and paint and I have all of the original take-off parts. The original 4-speed bell housing has been modified by John Mummert to accept a Ford Mustang T5 manual transmission. The clutch disk is new. The custom machined throw-out bearing, machined by John Mummert, is new. The T5 manual transmission was pulled out of a 1991 5.0 Ford Mustang (Tag #1352-199). It shifts through all gears tight and smooth and the fluid was clean. The Ford 9 inch, 370 limited slip posi 3rd member, was recently rebuilt (couple of month ago) and has not been run or installed. Most of the parts have been professionally powder coated by Vegas Powder Coating (rear axle housing, front axle, wish bones, brake drums, ladder bars, control arms, panhard bar, etc.) and some have been rattle canned (back of spindle, shocks, brake calipers, etc.). A few parts (Steering box, master cylinder, and frame) still need to be finished (Coated/Painted). I purchased the frame, complete front end and rear end, from Riley Automotive out of Colorado. All of the parts are American made (Pete & Jake (P&J)/Durant/Posies/Super Bell) quality items. . ..not Chinese junk. The sale also includes an engine hoist (which I don't have room for anymore), custom Y-Block rolling engine cradle, coveted Hurst Y-Block front engine mount, P&J disk brake covers, Y-Block book, and a 1960 Ford F100 dash/gauge insert. Riley Automotive Description: "The frame has a swept front, not super radical, looks like 1934 Ford rails (kinda). There is room for a good sized radiator on top of the crossmember - where it belongs! When channeling, the firewall only needs a 4" notch. The wheelbase is set at 106" to keep your stock firewall intact. No recessed firewall needed. This is as a low of a chassis we will build. It is still a very functional, drivable, set up. Nothing hanging down under the rails. The engine/trans is raised up into the proper location to use a mechanical fan and the radiator hoses will fit. A transmission hump and driveshaft tunnel will need to be fabricated for sure. This is not a stock replacement piece, but a full on custom build. This frame package comes with a ton of parts for the front end. I will not sell one without the parts".
