Description of 1931 Ford Model A Deluxe |
It’s time to sell my 1931 Ford Model A Deluxe Roadster that is a total blast to drive, especially on a nice day with the top down. 6 wheel model with a spare in each fender (both new), cowl lights, Flying Quall radiator cap, accessory heater over exhaust manifold, accessory chrome grill guard, side step covers, convertible top, Rumble Seat, rear folding trunk rack with Trunk has wood slats with a chrome frame; looks and runs great, starts up every time. This car had a beautiful restoration several years before I bought it, looks like a frame off and you can see that almost every nut and bolt has been replaced. The two-tone Williamsburg Blue body with pinstripes that match the wire wheels and gloss black fenders is an eye-catching color combination that draws attention wherever I go. Paint is in very good overall condition and the all steel body is solid, but there are a couple of minor dings and paint chips since this is a Sunday driver, not trailer queen. Chrome is in beautiful condition. Tan Leather upholstery, interior panels and Rumble Seat are in excellent condition. Convertible Top is in very good condition and I have all the side curtains as well as convertible top cover and all weather car cover. Quail trunk is in excellent condition. The Williamsburg Blue paint color scheme is a very deep rich color and is beautiful to see. The light shadows on the paint are reflections from the parking lines and spare tire covers and anything lighter around it when I took the pictures on a sunny day. I'm not a photographer so this is the best that I could do. The engine starts right up every time and its great fun to drive. Tires, Brakes and Shocks are all new. Turn signals, vacuum wiper, Temp and Oil pressure gauges have been added and all lights, gauges and horn work perfectly. There is a battery cut off switch and fuel cut off valve. Seat belts have been added for safety. Car will chug along at 50 mph with no problem although I prefer a slower speed to enjoy the scenery and watch people faces as we go by. The exterior color scheme continues on the dashboard. The classic four-spoke steering wheel is in excellent restored condition. Most of the time you see these in very rough shape. Like most cars of this era, there are some oil drips that let people know you’ve marked the parking spot. I change the oil often so it hasn’t been an issue for me. If you are looking for an authentic, real steel Model A Deluxe Roadster that is true to its origin and will give you a driving experience of days gone by, then this is the Model A for you. This is the only Model A I have owned so I'm not an expert but will do my best to answer any questions. In person inspections are welcomed.
I really enjoy driving this classic and the only reason I’m selling is to buy a car that I have been chasing for 10 years that is now going up for sale. I’m selling the Roadster and my Corvette to make the deal happen. Car is advertised locally and I reserve the right to end the sale early. Please, serious buyers only. |
