Description of 1956 Ford Fairlane TOWN SEDAN

1956 FORD TOWN SEDAN. car was originally all blue, but in 1956 dealer could not sell car from lot, until he painted the white 2-tone paint scheme, car was then sold. always stored inside by first two owners. third owner was a large collector who had this car about 30 years, and leased them out to movie and tv productions car was used in several movies.The original 292 motor was removed and rebuilt by local hot rod shop, bored out 30 over and stainless steel valve seats installed for unleaded gas, new valves and pistons, crank ground and new bearings, old t-pot carb removed and replaced with a rebuilt 1957 type holley and 57 intake. new msd distributor and t-bird valve covers. Master cylinder replaced with modern two chamber type, and new Borgson power steering box added. new 15" t-bird steering wheel replaces the old large diameter wheel, most all of the wiring was replaced and a modern fuse block added, Battery moved to trunk. Original hot water heater removed and replaced with a vintage air heater, also vintage air a/c added under dash. second radio delete plate used to hide old heater control holes in dash. new "motor meter" gauges added for (gas-water-oil-volts) to replace warning lights on dash. original speedometer used. seats and door panels are original. New (unpainted) fender skirts and original owners manual included.
