1961 Ford Falcon Sedan DeliveryOnly about 1,900 of these were made in 1961. This was a D/G racer at Bandimere Race Track in the Denver Colorado area. The builder hated Corvettes and Camaros and built this small block 289 Ford to race them in 1967. It has been calmed down for the street now but is still hand full and rides like a gasser should. It has a 4" dropped tube front axle and a 9" Ford posi-trac rear end with 4.56 gears and large ladder traction bars. It was stored in a Colorado garage for 21 years before I got it in 2015. Since then I have done the following:Installed a new dual master cylinder brake system, removed the solonoid line lock.Installed front disc brakes.Repaired the hand brake to operation. New battery.Removed and relaced the entire fuel system from the gas cap to the carb, new tank, sending unit, hoses, filter, pressure regulator and Eidlebrock 750 4 barrel.Added braces from the firewall to the front fenders, seat belts and carpet.Replaced the rear fender openings with front fender openings to match.New glass in the rear window, new door hinges, one side yet to be done. The non-working gages have been replaced with Dakota Digital that fit inside the original housing and they all work. The heater and defroster, all the duct work and vents have been replaced and work. The AM radio might work but was installed to fill in the hole(s) in the dash. All the tires are new Goodrich TA radials with less than 100 miles, P155R80-15 fronts on Ansen 4x15 slotted aluminum wheels and P265R60-15 rears on 8x15 matching matching wheels and caps. The moon tank is new 3.5 gallon non-functioning replacement.Included is an original shop manual and a new home made canvas car cover.Original Sun tach on the dash works good. The first 200 feet with this car is a blast, it will RUN! It steers straight and stops great without any pulling, a little loud with a big cam overlap, idles fine at 900 RPM. The dual exhaust seperate from the mufflers with 4 bolts and there are header tips for racing. This car will not be fun on the highway and should be trailered. It rides rough and bouncy, 40 MPH is 2500 RPM, 65 is 3750 with the low 4.56 rear end gears. Pickup and delivery by purchaser, arrangments can be made to view and ride. Email me with questions or additional pictures. Car is listed locally and may sell prior to the auction ending. Have some fun and blow the dust or your street with this nostalgic racer! Not many like it around at this price.
