Description of 1961 Ford Falcon Gasser |
This is a real 1961 Ford Falcon Sedan Delivery, not a converted wagon. It has the 29 VIN and 78A model. The VIN matches the stamped number under the front fender edge on the inner fender panel. Only 1988 Falcon Sedan Deliveries were produced in 1961. This delivery was turned into a gasser in the late 60's. All metal is original except for the rear fender lips where front fender lips had been welded in to allow for tire clearance. There is no rust or patch panels on the vehicle. The front suspension is a 4" dropped tube axle on leaf springs. The rear axle is a 1968 Ford 9" with 4.56 posi-traction with leaf springs and ladder bars. The engine is a 1965 Ford 289 with a heavy overlap cam, Prostock intake manifold, Edelbrock 750 carburetor, Holley blue electric fuel pump, Mallory coil and fender well headers. The fuel tank, pump and carb. were all replaced under 100 miles ago. The transmission is a 1968 Ford top loader 4 speed with an NHRA approved inspection shield. There is also a driveshaft loop. Brakes have been converted to manual front disc and drum rear. Wheels are Anson slot mags with BFG tires. Tires also have less than 100 miles. Dash is straight and uncut. The gauge pod was replaced with a Dakota Digital analog gauge package and there is a Sun tach mounted on the dash. All gauges work. Seats are 1965 Corvair. As with all sedan deliveries, there is no back seat. A hinged lid has been installed in the rear foot well area for storage. The rear window is new and operates correctly. This is an extremely clean and straight sedan delivery that is fully street drivable, although the 4.56 gearing does limit high speed runs such as freeway travel. Everything works on this vehicle except the stock radio, and it may function if hooked up. The paint match on the rear quarter panels was not very close after the fender lips were modified. Overall paint is presentable, but not show quality. I originally planned to paint it with a large flake panel pattern as popular on late 60's gassers. I am downsizing my car collection due to funds needed for family medical issues. I am available most anytime for inspection and operation of the vehicle. Contact me at (714) 390-3108 to set up an appointment. The car is located in Payson Arizona, where it is currently registered and insured. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Though this vehicle is in good condition, there is no warranty expressed or implied. Deposit due in 2 days and full payment in 7 days unless agreed upon. Short term storage after purchase and payment is not a problem. |
