Description of 1947 Ford Tudor Sedan Super Deluxe |
NOTE 1: Never ever ever buy a car without personal inspection. I will do everything in my power to describe it accurately but I will not expose myself to the scammers and victims who fail to take the responsibility to see what they are getting and then whine about it later. NOTE 2: This car is being sold with three options. Do not buy at the listed price and expect to geteverything described. There are people who want to build a street rod and this is the best solid start you can find. Others who want an original car will want it just that way and that's how it remains right now. So, here are the options: 1. Basic car with no engine or transmission. The engine and transmission will be pulled AFTER the auction has closed and full payment has been made. I will pull the engine, leaving all the original mounts in place and will make sure the car is complete and ready to install whatever you choose. 2. I willleave the car as described with the excellent running flathead engine and three speed transmission but will charge an additional $3000.00 3. I will pull the engine and transmission but will include a 302 small block Ford with an AOD automatic that was a goodrunning engine out of my 40 Ford that went in another direction motor wise. The 302 and AOD will be securely prepared for shipment with the car. There will be an additional charge of $1000.00 for this engine and transmission. I am open to negotiation on any thing regarding this car. I obviously think the original Flathead is a great engine as I am willing to pay 3K for it. NOW, FOR THE REST OF THE STORY I purchased this car from a man who restored it some years back. I believe he owned it for close to 30 years. When I purchased the car in early 2015 it was my intention to use it for touring until I finished my 40 Ford. Now that the 40 is running and I have a new project I need the space more than I need the car. I believe these old cars need to be driven and I drive it at least once a week long enough to keep the seals lubricated and working. I have driven the car up and down the west coast and into Canada. This car was restored from a solid survivor. It's not a pieced together junker that was cosmetically restored to turn a quick buck. The car comfortably cruises at 60 to 65 and wants to creep past that. It stops and handles well. Since buying the car I installed duals with glass pack mufflers. I also replaced the carburetor, fuel pump and distributer. It starts easily hot or cold. Other than the duals and an auxiliary electric fuel pump, the car is stock. The previous owner told me over the phone that it was not a show car but I believe he did say he placed in the touring class of several national meets. The car draws attention wherever I go and it shows well at the local cruises and show and shines. This is a car you can take the family and go as far as your heart desires. The interior is a correct reproduction from Lebaron Bonney. I recently purchased a rebuilt radio. A new clock and radio is on the way and both will be installed in the car or an adjustment will be made to have them installed in the event the shipping is delayed. Hopefully they will be installed and working within a day or two. The heater and defroster work as do the windshield wipers. The trunk has been restored as well and includes a spare tire and wheel. The exterior is clean and rust free. I have not seen any indication of previous accidents or rust repair. The paint is the correct original color and shows well but is not perfect. The original color still shows in the trunk and door jams and matches the outside repaint. The chrome and stainless is bright and shiny. The glass is good and all windows operate. The car comes with white wall bias tires but I have a set of new chrome wheels and radials that could be purchased separately. Pictures show the car with both sets of wheels for comparison. Both sets of tires and wheels have a matching spare. I am not an expert on the authenticity of old Ford automobiles and don't want to represent myself as one. However, this car looks like a very authentic original car to me and any of the general public who has seen it. This is a car you can fly or drive in and drive home. I would leave for Alaska or the east coast today with no fear. I will assist in delivery for whatever it costs me. I might even be willing to personally deliver it within a reasonable distance. I will assist in shipping out of the country but will charge a reasonable fee for doing that. This car is also for sale locally. Be sure to read the pricing options above.
