1936 Ford Street Rod Description

1936 Ford Roadster Street Rod

Purchased from Gas Monkey Garage and featured on this season's finale of Fast N' Loud! Mildly modified in a period correct fashion reminiscent of the Hotrods of the 50's 221 CID Flathead V-8 engine with a triple Stromberg carburetor, Fenton heads and exhaust headers, dual exhausts All three carburators have recently been rebuilt and tuned Three-speed sliding gear manual transmission Black exterior with a white top and tan interior Rumble seat and nicely flowing fenders LED taillights

This solid and highly desirable 36 Roadster is a Texas car that we recently purchased in a mega deal with Richard Rawlings of Gas Monkey Garage. There's an indefinable something about Ford's styling from the mid-1930s. MotoeXotica Classic Cars is very pleased to present this 1936 Ford Roadster Street Rod that is mildly modified in a period correct fashion reminiscent of the Hotrods of the 50's. Blue Oval cars were not only reliable; the styling was comparable to vehicles turned out by the top coachworks of the day. Ford offered a wide range of body styles but the rarest was the two-door roadster with a rumble seat. We recently purchased from Gas Monkey Garage in Dallas and was featured in this seasons finale episode. When we received the car it only had a single carburetor functional out of the three so we have recently rebuilt the carbs and synced tuned them correctly.

Finished in a glossy black, this street rod's paint and trim are in very good condition, with only minor imperfections visible at close range. This example has been well cared for and mildly modified in a period correct fashion reminiscent of 1950s Hotrods; for example, it has no hood and it uses a grille from the early 1930s. The car's windows are clear and intact, as are its lights, which include taillights augmented with LEDs.

This Ford rolls on Coker Classic wide whitewall tires, size 6.50-16 at all four corners. The tires each surround wire wheels and the tires and wheels are in fair condition.

Overall, this car's bodywork is in very good order, including the rubberized roof. The engine bay is tidy and the bumpers fit decently to the vehicle. Instead of a trunk, there is a rumble seat, which is a neat blast from the past. The previous owner put a customized, protective flap in to resist scratches from those getting in and out of the rumble seat. The white tan canvas top raises and lowers easily with a tight fit.

In that engine bay is a modified version of Ford's 221 CID Flathead V-8 engine. It features a triple Stromberg carburetors that have been recently rebuilt and synced, Fenton heads and exhaust headers, dual exhausts and an electric cooling fan for the radiator. Backing up this motor is a three-speed sliding gear manual transmission. Just like with the Model T, the Flathead V-8 allowed Henry Ford to put eight-cylinder power within reach of Joe Everyday.

Inside, the car's tan interior is overall good condition. The seats and inner door panels, however, are in decent shape but show their age. The instrument panel, three-spoke "banjo" steering wheel, mirror glass and shift lever are all in good order. There is no radio in this car but there are ancillary gauges mounted beneath the instrument panel - oil, engine temperature and voltage.

This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 95,205 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title in Gas Monkey Garage's name. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
