Description of 1972 Ford F-100 |
1972 Ford F-100 Pickup Truck Short-bed Conversion This truck is a great representation of a 1972 all original-ish truck. This is a CA truck and was purchased from the original owner just a couple years ago. There is zero rust in this truck. The truck was purchased by our shop, Fat Fender Garage, for the purpose of learning to convert and perfect the conversion of a long bed in pristine condition to a short bed. Great care was taken through this process as we did the conversion. Our team is exceptional and it was done almost perfectly without much paint touch-up needed. The reason we did it was to see if we could save some of these amazing long beds and get them on the road as a short bed where they look much better and have more value. The truck was gone through and was used by my son as a daily for a few months so we could be sure the truck was running well and most of the bugs worked out of it since it sat for a few years. It has a couple thousand miles since it’s been on the road. The truck has a good strong running 360 motor with an automatic transmission. It’s very easy to drive with the power steering that feels good. Pretty much everything works. All the lights, blinkers, etc work, as they should. The heater and blower fan work too. The truck was an original A/C truck from the factory, and that is intact, but the compressor is missing. I don’t’ think it would take much to get a new compressor and get that running. All the gauges work. We just put a new fuel gauge in it, as the old one was broken. We did install a new Holley 2b carb so we could have the electric choke added to it, but you will get the original with the truck as well. The paint is not perfect, it has a nice aged patina that shows some years of use, but just the right amount. It still sports the original hubcaps from 1972, which are hard to find in this condition. If you have any questions, please feel free to call. We always recommend that you check out the vehicles for your own peace of mind, but we will do our job to make sure everything is as stated. My name is Jason, you can reach me at 480-619-8353… THE TRUCK IS AVAILABLE TO VIEW OR INSPECT. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PREVIEW THE TRUCK, PLEASE DO SO BEFORE BIDDING.
