Available initially as a coupe or a convertible, with a low starting price and a large choice of colors and options, the Mustang sold faster than Ford had ever hoped. It caught all of the other major auto manufacturers by surp...rise. It was so popular that through the 1965 model year the Mustang sold 680,989 units, its first year! It remains one of the most collectible and instantly recognizable classic cars worldwide. This particular example was manufactured at the San Jose, CA plant and sold new in Los Angeles, CA. The car still retains its original California black license plates. The car was always garaged, highly maintained and never involved in an accident. It is finished in its original color combination of Night mist Blue Metallic with a white and blue deluxe pony interior and a white convertible top. When we first inspected the car, we were amazed at how well cared for the car was. The original floor pans remained in virtually new untouched condition as did the frame and all original sheet-metal. It is beautifully detailed throughout including its stunning interior, engine compartment and chassis. The mustang is well equipped with 289ci C code V8, power steering, power convertible top, deluxe pony interior, factory disc brakes, outside mirror adjuster, glass rear window, full console, cruise-o-matic automatic transmission, heater, AM radio, reverse lights and more. The car has been freshly redone with new paint, all new trim including bumpers and door sills . It is an amazingly straight, tight, and solid example.
