1968 Ford Mustang GT500E Convertible Pro Touring 5-Spd Manual Frame Off Build!!

1968 Ford Mustang GT500E Convertible Pro Touring 5-Spd Manual Frame Off Build!! Description

For sale is my one of a kind completely custom built GT500E Pro Touring Restomod 1968 Ford Mustang Convertible 5-Speed Manual as I like to refer to as "Eleanor's evil sister”. This completely custom build was done with every aspect in mind including looks, power, sound, handling, and braking. The triple black no badge look is absolutely killer, this car gets more attention than any other car I have owned including Ferrari's, Vipers, other custom classics. This car took the basic idea of Eleanor to a whole new level which in itself took the classic car world by storm in 2000 when Gone in 60 Seconds came out.

Where to begin? No expense has been spared and no shortcut has been taken as can be obviously seen by the photos. This beauty has undergone a complete frame off restoration / complete build in 2010.

There are no shock towers with the completely custom Rack and Pinion /Wilwood Disc Brake adjustable coil over front suspension this car handles like a Porsche 911. This set up alone for parts not including the time and labor is over $6,000. I have owned many 60's Mustangs and have never driven a car that handles anything like this. It truly changes the buyer pool, you have the vintage rough and tough look of Eleanor, with the handling of a Porsche, in a convertible.

The motor is a Ford Racing 302 H.O. motor completely built in 2010 by Felt Automotive Machine shop in Utah. Recipes available in hand for all details and has estimated horsepower of 400, this car moves. Pay close attention to the details on this build. This has been converted over to a billet aluminum full serpentine system. People don't realize how expensive these parts cost which is why most done go the extra mile. This car starts on the dime and runs so strong you can tell immediately when this starts how perfect it runs.

Probably my favorite part of this car is the custom designed full exhaust. The exhaust starts with the full JBL headers into a 3 inch full dual exhaust with Flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers. I have a full start up and walk around video of the car its sounds absolutely insane.

The Transmission is a 5-Speed Manual Tremec transmission which was added so highway cruising is an absolute joy cruising at 75-80 is no stress on the motor for long trips. Again everything was taken into consideration with this build. The 4 speed manual is just not the way to go for long trips which you will absolutely need to do when you buy this car.

Just upgraded in the past few months is the entire ignition system. New 140 AMP Powermaster Alternator, ready for any accessories you want to add, New Interstate battery, new starter, new solenoid starter, MSD Ignition, MSD 6AL and MSD Distributor, Ford Racing Spark plug wires. Needless to say she fires up like a brand new car.

The undercarriage of this car is what I believe tells the tale and sets this apart from much of the competition, it is as clean as can be as to be expected with a frame off/sandblasted restoration. Floors were also replace with the frame off restoration. NO RUST. See detailed photos. I took a photo of the inside of the trunk with the wheel well/rear quarter exposed so you can see its perfect no rust. The doors have NO sag and no rust underneath, all hinges and strikers very solid and perfect.

Wheels are 17 inch polished aluminum Eleanor wheels. The stance/suspension is set up so perfectly there is no rubbing whatsoever in the front or back, yet you have a very aggressive low stance.

The body is the full Eleanor highest quality molded body with fiberglass hood. The craftsmanship is absolutely gorgeous and the car is straight as an arrow. Paint is gorgeous PPG Dupont Jet Black, which shines as if it were just painted and looks like glass. As the paint job is over 7 years old at this point there are some minor chips and scratches here and there as this car has been driven in the nice weather ever year, but again as can be seen in the photos the car is gorgeous.

The convertible top was also replaced during the full restoration and is in perfect condition with no tears or rips and is a POWER Top you can put the top down in approximately 15 seconds in the car at a stop light, something you would expect only with a newer convertible. I have a video of the top being operated. Car has the black matching boot which will come with it that goes over the top when down, I just did not photo it with the boot on, its in perfect shape.

I have been a seller on eBay for the past 17 years since 2001 and have always had 100% perfect feedback as a seller. I have sold many high end cars over the past 15 years all again with perfect buyer feedback so bid with confidence. Please ask ANY and all questions before making buying or making an offer.

Due to problems in the past with buyers clicking "buy it now" then never hearing from them I am requiring a $500 immediate deposit via PayPal. I can't deal with having to re-list, get seller fees back and lose market time due to non-performance.

I have this car priced VERY aggressive and there is NOTHING like this on ebay for less than $97K. You an go on Ebay right now and look at the competition. There is another seller right now which you an easily find here selling a Grey convertible which has a similar suspension set up same body, but inferior motor, interior and has only a 4 speed manual they are asking $97,000. There is another orange one for $50K that looks like an SUV with a body kit, stock base mustang 289 with an automatic.

You can buy and enjoy this car, take to shows, weekend cruiser, or you can spend some hours and a little money to make this car a showroom perfect car and would easily sell for $80K-$100K at Barrett Jackson especially if taken to Scottsdale. I am selling this car because I simply have too many cars and not enough time with my young family. It just does not make any more sense for me to keep it at this point, my loss is your gain today this car would easily cost over $100K to build between a solid base car, all the parts, and labor
