Description of 1956 Ford Fairlane

1956 Ford Fairlane 2 Door CoupeThis 1956 Ford is truly one of a kind. It has a 427 Ford service block that has been repaired before I purchased it. The block was tested and has no problems. It has been bored and stroked to a 482 CID. The insides of the engine are all new including crank. rods. pistons. cam. lifters. pushrods and valves. The heads are 427 tunnel port code "K" and were professionally rebuilt. All the machine work was done in San Jose. CA. The camshaft was a special grind to support the flow on the tunnel port heads. Carburetor is a Holly HP950 4 barrel. Way too much to list about specs however if you have a specific question I can get you the information. The manual transmission is a Ford T-10 4-Speed that has been completely rebuilt about 500 miles ago. (Car was originally a 3-speed on the tree). The headers are custom 1 3/4" to 3" collectors at the bottom. The exhaust system is 3" all the way out to the rear bumper and has a X pipe on the way back. Car has Magna Flow mufflers and sounds awesome. I installed disk brakes on the front of the car and work great. I do not have the specifics on the rear end gears. I am selling the car with a 1957 Ford station wagon big bearing 9" Ford rear end that is just the shell (no third member. bearings or seals). Paint is not perfect however it is a 20 foot car for sure. Interior was replaced before I purchased and looks great. No tears or rips anywhere and the headliner is perfect. The chrome is in need of being re-chromed if you are looking for a show car however it is ok how it sits except there is a scratch on the rear bumper (Please see picture). I have installed an electric fan when I installed the new aluminum radiator however I have not wired it up. I have not driven the car in a while since life takes over and is the reason I am looking to sell. I want to purchase a house and need to sell to help with a down payment when we are ready to buy our house. I have owned this car for almost 11 years. I purchased it from a guy in Texas and has no bondo that I can find. As far as I know it has not been in any accidents and has the original paint that it had when I purchased in 2006. Please ask questions before you bid. If you need to borrow the money to purchase the car get the money before you bid. Please don't waste my time and yours. I have represented the car to the best of my knowledge and remember this car is almost 60 years old and is not perfect. The car can be inspected however is not registered or insured at this point. ALL funds will be required before I will release the vehicle. New buyer is responsible for the shipment payment in full and the car is sold with NO warrantee.
