The 1957 Ford Fairlane 500s are always in demand because of their unique and intricate styling. So when you can get it on a cool Sunliner convertible that has all the right period-correct cruiser upgrades, then you realize you're looking at a turn-key head-turner. The pastel blue is exactly how you want to represent the cheery and optimistic '50s. But what really steals the show on this convertible is the bright work. The front bumper is a chrome king that... hugs the fender as the wraps around the front end. The full-length side trim with wave pattern and gold insert is pure Americana. It all ends in a rear end that looks inspired by the original Thunderbird. Plus, it has a continental kit for that extra-long touch of class. The rear end is far from the only custom piece on this Fairlane. The '57s have an exclusive front end that looks like the headlights were frenched right at the factory, and so this style makes it the perfect one to add other upgrades like the lake pipes and Mercury rear fender skirts. This total package makes it look like the perfect distinct vintage cruiser. While the black roof is a nice distinctive touch, this one looks even better when you flip a switch, and power it down. That's because the two-tone interior is absolutely terrific. The deeper blue and pristine white almost look like the two colors you mix together to get the exterior hue. Plus, with the white boot cover in place, it has a great coordinating effect with the exterior whitewall tires. So this droptop is a terrific interior/exterior total package. You slip behind the factory wheel and stare at the horizon-like speedometer. As you gaze across the dash, everything that is period-correct is still on display. But as a true cruiser, you also have a nice auxiliary gauge trio to keep an eye on the motor. Underneath the sporty front-latched hood is a 312 cubic-inch V8. This originally came with a smaller motor, but they couldn't resist the upgrade to the Thunderbird Special. They really did a terrific job with the bold red block, pie dish air topper, and correct special valve covers. So it looks like this belonged in here since day one. More than just look good, it provides the right kind of power. Topped with a four-barrel carburetor, the larger V8 delivers smooth performance and plenty of torque to move the big convertible with ease. This comfortable attitude even extends to the power steering and three-speed automatic transmission. Out on the road, the cherry bomb-style dual exhaust gives a little extra attitude, but features like the electric fan help you realize this one is meant for effortless driving. It's already hard to find a '57 Sunliner these days. So to find one done exactly the way you want it is a rare treat that won't stay available for long. Don't miss out, call today!
