Description of 1957 Ford Fairlane 500

THE RESERVE PRICE HAS BEEN LOWERED. Incredible 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Convertible BARN FIND! This car was recently acquired from the people who bought it in July 1958. They parked it in 1968 and has not been driven since! Only 58012 miles on the odometer and everywhere you look it appears to be a very complete solid car. The only rust through on the body is on the left rear quarter panel and the right rear floor. The trunk appears to have the original paint still on it with no rust through. Even the spare tire well is solid! All original glass appears to be fine with no obvious cracks or damage. All four side windows are manual and operate properly.A beautifully professionally rotisserie restored 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 convertible just recently sold at Mecum's Auction in Indy for $100000.00 !!!!! This car would be a perfect candidate for a restoration of like quality. It also would make a great survivor car with a full mechanical restoration and new soft top.This car has the 312 Y-Block V-8 with a Holley 4-barrel carb. It features automatic transmission power steering power brakes push-button radio clock. Original owner's manual as well as an invoice for the paint job dated November 1963 was found in the glove box. Evidence of the Cumberland Green lower original body color is found on the rear license plate bracket. The white paint is flaking there and green paint can be seen under it.Please review all pictures and feel free to ask questions. Car does not run and will need to be hauled / towed away. Car is located in Richmond IN 47374. This Ford comes with a clear Indiana title in my name and will also have a scanned copy of the Ohio title dated July 1958 to May 2015.Chrome is in really decent condition on all stainless pieces and most of the window trim. Grille and both bumpers exhibit moderate flaking and pitting. Convertible top frame appears complete and has been disconnected from the hydraulic cylinders so it may be raised and lowered by hand. Hydraulic system is still complete present and intact.
